House Oversight Committee Chair Darrell Issa (R-CA) appeared on Fox News Sunday this morning with some “late breaking news”: “[Lois Lerner´s] attorney indicates that she now will testify,” Issa said, referring to the chief witness in his investigation of the IRS’ alleged targeting of conservative groups. Lerner, who was the Director of the IRS Exempt Organizations division during the supposed targeting, has thus far invoked the Fifth Amendment in front of Issa’s committee. “We believe the evidence we’ve gathered causes her, in her best interest, to be someone who should testify,” Issa said. Host Chris Wallace even double-checked that Lerner was,

I’d say her attorney is lying because they changed their minds, or whatever. Liberals lie.

Please include me in your ping list.

There’s been lots of talk that she could sue her lawyer BIG TIME for allowing her to make that statement at the hearing, and thus void her 5th amendment right. I wouldn’t put much credence into anything he says..

Both her and her attorney should be rounded up and put into jail for a hearing on formal charges of a crime against the American people.

“Dead-End Darrell” strikes again. Issa’s investigations are a joke;...a really, really bad joke. They’re as feckless and incompetant as Obama’s foreign policy.

It really is sad too, because we have so many sitting ducks right there for the taking. Proper investigations probably could have taken this admin down after F&F or Benghazi, and definitely with this IRS business.

If Obama pulled out a gun during the state of the union speech and shot a bunch of congressmen/senators we still probably couldn't get past the endless hearings and actually convict him of anything.

The whole idea is to say “we throughly looked into it and although there were a few overzealous official in the IRS there was no conspiracy against any tea party groups. No charges should be filed since the IRS can discipline and retrain these misguided employees. The officials do have point that there are too many outside groups raising money and that could be a threat to our democracy. We in Congress should address this to make sure that political money is filtered the the 2 party system to keep corruption out of politics. The preservation of the two party system is the bedrock of our democracy and essential to the freedoms we enjoy. When we have non professionals raising money and interfering in the process it can lead to corruption or cause deadlock in Washington preventing us in Congress from moving forward with the business of government!”

Lerner’s Lawyer: Issa’s Wrong, She Won’t Testify on IRS
Sunday, March 2, 2014 05:53 PM

By: Greg Richter

Former IRS official Lois Lerner will not be testifying to Congress this week, says her lawyer, adding that he doesn’t know why House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa thought she would be.

Issa told “Fox News Sunday” host Chris Wallace that Lerner had agreed to testify to his committee on Wednesday despite previously asserting her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination.

But Lerner’s lawyer, William W. Taylor, tells Politico that Issa is wrong.

“As of now, she intends to continue to assert her Fifth Amendment rights,” Politico quote Taylor on Sunday. “I do not know why Issa said what he said.”

Issa told Fox that he had been told by Lerner’s lawyer she would be offering testimony without a promise of immunity because it is in her best interest.

Have ANY of Issa's "investigations" ever resulted in anything?

Lois said she would only testify if granted immunity. Can Issa do that on his own?

Actually they have. The collection of information that otherwise would not be assembled, and at the ready should a Special Prosecutor ever be appointed to actually persue these various illegalities.

Until the time such a Special Prosecutor is appointed the Congress is pretty much relegated to inaction beyond the collection of evidence as Obama’s A.G. isn’t about to do his job, or he would be incriminating himself as well as every other Democrat in government.

Is Darrell Issa gonna grant her Amnesty Immunity to then subpoena her & get her to testify ?

Confirm political motivation from The White House?

The latest I heard is that she had agreed to testify but wants a week’s reprieve before she does. Reported on FoxNews.
