To the Editor:
In nature, mothers represent a great force in the perpetuation of their species. From the mighty killer whale, to the mother bear, to the petite soccer mom, the female of the species is dedicated to protection of her young and her family, and will readily stand down what would appear to be a superior foe.
I realize that it is early to write about the next presidential election, but it has become apparent that America is ready for a woman to take the ultimate reins of power.
The conservative woman is a force to be reckoned with, from Margaret Thatcher to Sarah Palin, and even Jenny Beth Martin. These women and millions of others exude a selfless power. They are the glue that binds the nation together. This is in contrast to the liberal woman whose power is more self-involved, yet no less powerful.
Democrats have left no stone unturned in their efforts to label the conservative women politicians as dimwitted or, worse, miscreants. I believe a conservative woman president would finally put an end to the so-called war on women instigated by the left and sure to be continued with the election of, ugh, dare I say it, Hillary.
Forget about Chris Christie or Jeb Bush. Contrary to Hillary’s (what difference does it make) attitude, a conservative woman would rally the country and make a real difference, offering hope, confidence and change. Americans would welcome a conservative woman president who would whip Washington back in shape to protect her citizens from an overbearing bureaucracy.
We have evolved into a nation resigned to kicking the can of fiscal responsibility down the road. With the exception of Ronald Reagan, all the presidents since November 1963 have failed us in many ways. The first black president, an unabashed liberal, promised to bring the country together but has failed miserably and has left us more divided than any of us truly desire. I can only hope that we don't make the same mistake with the first woman president.
Let us make a new beginning with the first woman president, a conservative, who could be our own Iron Lady and lead us to prosperity.
The next question is: Who would that be. High on my list would be Sarah Palin if she is willing, or Dr. Ben Carson if he is willing, but not because they represent diversity. We've seen what a diversity selection looks like and how it performs. Either would be intelligent, capable, patriotic, and a force to be reckoned with, and that is what matters, not the gossip details that Carson would make the second minority choice in a row or that Palin would be the "First Woman".

This is one of the problems of modern conservatism: Not being able or willing to conform, in any appreciable way, to modern culture, or better yet, to shape it. If we don’t do something, and fast, Hillary Clinton is going to succeed Barack Obama. It’s as plain as the nose on your face, yet we sit here and cry about the folks wanting a woman president, rather than getting our candidate ready to face Hillary. Or making it clear that Ted Cruz truly is Hispanic, no matter what the media says. We let the press paint Zimmerman as a “white Hispanic” when he was actually blacker than the “first black president” and we’re going to get steamrolled again if we don’t get going.
I sense there is still a very strong sentiment against a woman president, whether it is fear of a strong woman or the legitimate health concerns that can affect women in their latter years (menopause, breast or uterine cancer) that could incapacitate a woman leader.
Remember, a skinny waifish black guy was able to totally overtake Hillary in 2008 despite massive advantages. Remember the very sexist backlash against Sarah Palin that year also which continued for many years after.
Electing the “first ———” president is exactly how we wound up with the marxist poser we have now. I don’t think running a woman for woman’s sake is going to possibly offset Hillary. However, a minority voice on the ticket such as Ted Cruz or Marco Rubio could draw some votes away from the Democrats.
I don’t think blacks would crossover. They’ve already proven that 95% are wedded to the Democrat Party at all cost. I don’t think a Bachmann or Palin will cause liberal women to crossover, particularly against Hillary. However, Latinos have shown a willingness to crossover and won’t find Hillary Clinton as a candidate who will do anything of particular benefit to them.
Personally, I’d want the best most articulate candidates for conservatism regardless of race or gender but, if we’re going to play this game, drawing on the Latino vote to crossover is probably the smart play. Any anti-woman vote against Hillary will have nowhere to go if the GOP also nominates a woman.

You beat me to it. Getting the “right” woman for the job certainly excludes a long list of demodummies, including Hitlary, Mooooooochelle and a host of others.
What this country needs is a woman like Palin.
I’d prefer a Labrador Retriever to what we currently have.
Beware of Dr. Carson. I wouldn't be too quick to jump on the Carson bandwagon just yet. He apparently doesn't understand the Constitution very well.

He has taken that position more than once which is cause for concern.

Will women rise up to protect their children against Hillary? Or will they remain silent. If women remain silent against Hillary, as they are now, how will a leader emerge from them in defense of their children?
Don’t understand what you mean when you say women rising up from silence so that we will know a leader? Not all women or men rising up are leaders.
