Abilene, Texas: (Virtual) Gay Honeymoon Capital of the World!
American Thinker ^ | 02/26/2014 | By Doug Mainwaring

hen it comes to same sex nuptials, Abilene beats out Key West, P-town, and yes, even Niagara Falls as an inevitable honeymoon destination. Surprised?

Let me explain by first describing The Abilene Paradox, made famous by my Organizational Behavior Professor, Dr. Jerry B. Harvey (Emeritus, The George Washington University):

It’s pretty clear that the corporatists who ruined the Boy Scouts are planning to use economic blackmail to impose homo marriage in every state whether the people there want it or not.

Gays love those fu_fu locales.
Abilene, TX. errrrr NOT. We conservatives may be banished to such locations in the future. Abilene would be like paradise compared to the leftist hellholes with peachy climes or attractions. Those gayish locations may be the only heaven they experience for all eternity on the topside of the terra firma.

The issue is one of effete elites who do not want to offend their homosexual “friends”.

See cliche of women’s hair dressers.

That is why congressmen with homosexuals on staff have no clue about the real world. That is why AGs like p.bondi in fl are utterly unreliable. That is why corporations with hedonists on staff simply do not care about right vs wrong.

They will do their lines on cocain, shoot heroine, see their mistress, dog, whatever, and move on.

If all hedonism is legal there is no way they can be denied power whether or not it is a “live boy or dead woman”.

The Myth that the Boy Scouts were ruined is but a fable de jour

Abilene
Abilene
Queerest lil’ town
I’ve ever seen

People there
Embrace those Queens
in Abilene
ain’t my Abilene

I sit alone
Most every night
Watch those drag queens
Parade in plain sight
Wish that they
Weren’t hasslin’ me
in Abilene
My Abilene

How I wish
That train would come
And take them all back
Where they came from
Take them away
And leave me be
in Abilene
My Abilene

Abilene
Abilene
Queerest lil’ town
I’ve ever seen

People there
Embrace those Queens
in Abilene
ain’t my Abilene

Strangely titled article. Very misleading.

When you read it you realize Abilene, TX has nothing to do with being a gay honeymoon hotspot.

Weird.

Yeah...you didn't read the linked article, did you? (Laughing uproariously.)

You didn't read the linked article either, did you?

Everybody should take a minute and read the Mainwaring article. It's worth the extra few minutes and you'll get a completely different perspective than one does by merely reading the thread title.

For the record, Doug Mainwaring is a Tea Party conservative who happens to be gay, and who is against same-sex marriage.

Actually, in this case, reading the article would be fairly entertaining. You might want to give it a shot.

When you do, you'll then understand that Abilene is merely an abstraction used to illustrate the moral and legal perils of "groupthink."

In other words, the article isn't really about Abilene, or Texas, or anyplace else.
