CLEVELAND, OH - There's evidence of more violent teens running around the heart of downtown Cleveland.A disabled Army vet spoke out about the latest attack that happened Friday, Feb. 7, 2014.
Matthew Robinson told our Ed Gallek he was riding RTA's Healthline when six to eight teenagers surrounded him on the bus, and then started following him. Cleveland Police hustled and found three of the suspects running from the scene.
They apprehended an 18 and 19-year-old guy, plus a 16 year-old-girl who had the video on her phone.
Violent teens and even mobs have been a problem around Public Square recently.
Last month a teen was brutally beaten on the square, and at times the power of a massive police presence was needed to take back the square.
Matthew, a disabled Army vet, wants his story to be a warning to everyone living, or venturing downtown.
"Your mother or sister could be on the bus, and the same thing could happen to them," added Mr. Robinson. Then, he said they attacked, took his stuff, and videotaped what they were doing.
The incident went down at 6th and Euclid, and the crowd scattered when cops showed up.
Robinson told 19 Action News, "What they were saying was, 'Knock that boy out!' 'White boy.' 'Cracker.' They were saying, 'Knock that white boy out.'"
The victim said not only did the group taunt him with racial slurs, they also videotaped the incident.

Nah. I believe the correct PC term meant to lessen the hate crime charge is “ethnic intimidation”. They’ll walk and they know it. After all, their boys are large and in charge now with pens and phones.
There will be pressure from the fed DOJ to drop them.
I think I’m just not gonna even read these abridged stories anymore. You know, the ones where they refuse to identify the race/ethnicity of the ‘alleged’ perpetrators? It is just too cumbersome to have to search for it only to find out what was likely is true.
I’m so proud of this man for speaking up, instead of mouthing the usual platitudes about “I don’t know why they did it, it was just a random thing”.

well they did have quotes with white boy and cracker in them, wasn’t too hard in this case to confirm what we all correctly assumed.

Yeah...I know but if the words were changed to “N-word, etc.” you can bet your a$$ the lead would be “White Right Wingers......” and there would be a quote from Holder saying how he was gonna prosecute on Federal Hate Crime laws.
I thought hate crimes were federal? And anyhow, the current administration at "Just-us" has said that hate crimes happen when a minority or protected class is victimized, not the other way around. Handicapped white veterans may qualify but it's not clear if it still applies when the haters are also a protected class.
What part of Liberia is Cleveland in?
“Teens” is a code word used by white racists just like the word “thugs.” The headline writers have to find a new word. /s
