Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.), a tea party favorite, will speak at a homeschooling rally in Iowa next month, signaling his continued interest in a possible 2016 presidential bid.

The event, which will take place on March 18 at the Iowa state capitol in Des Moines, will be hosted by the Network of Iowa Christian Home Educators (NICHE), a politically-engaged group that has previously hosted presidential contenders.

Senator Cruz, you need to speak in eastern Iowa instead of repeatedly in Des Moines!

If anyone is in touch with Ted Cruz, please, please, pass this message on to him.

I love Sen. Cruz. My question is an honest one. His mother was an American citizen; I understand hs father was not. Sen. Cruz was born in Canada. By what constitutional logic s he qualified to serve? I hope mightily that he is but I do wonder.

With respect to constitutionality, please point out the relevant passage from the US Constitution that requires 2 citizen parents at birth to be considered Natural born.

Lacking that, please point out the relevant US Law passed by the US Congress and signed by a US President that requires 2 citizen parents at birth to be considered Natural Born.

Lacking that, please point out the relevant US Supreme Court Ruling that has clarified the meaning of Natural Born to mean requiring 2 citizen parents at birth.

Thanks in advance.

He was born a US citizen because of his mother, by US law. He is a natural born US citizen.

There are people who make other claims of second and third class citizenship at birth, but they have no support in US law. The US courts would never support such nonsense.

So Obama is unquestionably qualified to serve no matter where he was born? Is that your position? Just checking.

Yes. Were you not aware of what makes one a citizen at birth?

McCain wasn’t born in the U.S. No problems there....with the consequences of his birth, at least.

I understand its a matter of some discussion including quite a bit of litigation in the last five or so years. Or were you not aware of that?

He is a natural born citizen if that’s what you mean.

Wow touchy? Yeah so the litigation in the last five or so years is what makes most of us aware of the definition of natural born citizen. While you are obviously aware of the issue, you are ignorant of its facts.

Cruz meets the Constitutional requirement of being a natural born citizen. He was a US citizen at the time of his birth.

Do you dispute this?

Nothing angry in my response, however, I take it you cannot cite any relevant LEGAL references, of any form, otherwise you would have provided them.

You see, this is where a lot of that bull**** about the constitution and birth certificates and principles and rule of law before this guy got a following here and exposes it for the...well...bull**** that it really was. Put the correct letter next to the name and all that goes away like it never happened.

I've wondered too, but when I sat down and reasoned my through the issue, what settled the matter for me, is the fact that the Constitution and the Framers' America have largely been overthrown.

It's more important to me to elect someone to that office who will give their all to restore the Constitution, and roll back the Socialist takeover of our government.

We're actually in a war to save our country.

For that reason, Ted Cruz will have my full support if he chooses to run. If we can somehow shoe horn our government back into its constitutional constraints, then maybe I'll give a damn about Article II, Section 1 (not that I don't).
