When Joe signed with the Jets (and with a 400k signing bonus)all of us back in his hometown (Beaver Falls, PA)said that 5 years after he retires he’ll be back working in the steel mills. Well, he retired, the mills are closed, and Joe looks like he is living comfortably.

I’d say he has done well.

I think he made more money from commercials, movie, etc. than from football. Back in his day $400,000 was a lot. Not these days. Of course, in the 60s/70s you could actually afford to go to football games.
