Solution: Eliminate Grade Inequality.
They’ll all be exceptional students.

I was in a GT class in 2nd-6th grade with two others. We were sent to the corner of the class with books and the teachers never checked on us. They were too busy with the remedial students who never did learn how to read or do basic math.

It’s all about race. It’s always all about race. When can we go back to being just people???

“This is beyond idiocy.”
Jim, this has been going on in Californicatoryou land for at least 3 decades.
Our sons, who are now 40 something, were in the so called gifted programs in their local grade school.
After prop 13 was passed, the gifted program was one of the first programs axed.
A decade, later it got funding for a while. It was axed again due to lack of funds. However, they found funds to pay for bi lingual aides across our local school districts.
Flash forward again. In another county, we have/had younger relatives in gifted programs for elementary and middle school. They are the racial minority in those schools and those gifted programs. Their parents this school year put their older child in a private school to avoid the pc ism. The younger child will probably go to a private school in a year or so.

The focus in public education: Teach to the lowest aptitude in the room. Everyone gets a trophy, just for showing up. And, each classroom MUST reflect community demographics.
Pathetic.
Home school them young’uns.

One of my kids’ teacher was spiteful so when the kids went to the GT class, that’s when cookies or birthday cake was served. Evil witch.

I had to make up for the inadequacy of the schools. The damn "corrected" papers were not "corrected". There were plenty of errors missed. The teachers were incompetent in math, English, history and science. That doesn't leave much...PE? My son ended up teaching the AP classes, conducting evening review sessions for fellow students and scoring "5" on every AP exam. The union teachers were useless seat warmers.

in order to make things more equal, liberals drag achievers down, while conservatives would work to make underachievers better.

A program for academically exceptional students does not use the word “diversity” in its guidelines or it is not a program for the academically exceptional.

Who cares? Even if said students were allowed to participate, by the time the public school teachers were done with them, the boys would be castrated, the girls would have an artificial penis glued to their privates, and everybody would be expert on sexual perversion and self gratification. (I think that's the term. The class at UT?)

cultures that celebrate education and learning ( and don’t force celibacy on their most educated) will evolve into greater intelligence.
