(Exempt) Sen. Mary Landrieu's Obamacare chutzpah: James Varney
NOLA ^ | 12/20/13 | James Varney

Posted on 12/21/2013 5:13:00 AM PST by Libloather

**SNIP**

Today, judging by her recent television ads and press releases, Landrieu's approach is more, shall we say, nuanced. If I follow her correctly (and, as The Wall Street Journal noted Friday, what Landrieu says is not an indication of what she does), her current position is this:

Obamacare is a great progressive step she would vote for again, and only greedy bigots who want people dying in the street oppose it. However, it hasn't gotten off to a great start and a number of its bedrock claims have proved mendacious, so she is going to step forward, champion the millions taking it on the chin, and force President Barack Obama to live up to his promises.

Never mind that those promises cannot be kept because the problems are baked into the law; never mind that Landrieu knows perfectly well her fake fervor will sway none of the Democratic Party bosses and thus it all amounts to nothing more than an electoral ploy.

Mary promised that she would sign up for the disaster that is Husseincare. I'm still looking for proof that she did.

Intelligent conservatives are asking why Dumbocrats---like Miss Mary----remain prostrate in obeisance to Boobamba?

SEVERAL REASONS: (1) There's (gag) Party Loyalty----Dems spout the party line....or else. (2) Boobamba bought Mary w/ hefty fededral payouts.* (3) Plus Boobamba still has the power to dole out federal jobs w/ high pay, endless perks, and hefty pensions.....when the voters unceremoniously vote them out. (4) AND LET US NOT FORGET---Boobamba has the means to facilitate Dem voter fraud where needed.

================================================

* When her opponent started running ads showing Mary in the well of the Senate parroting the infamous "You can keep your plan, " Mary Landrieu started to pull away when she saw her seat was in jeopardy---but she got back in line.

Louisiana is a state where Obama, and his health care reform, are highly unpopular .....AND they got Mary on tape lying about keeping their plans.

Louisiana voters need to be reminded that Landrieu supported nationalizing 1/6 of our economy.

THE LANDRIEU PAPER TRAIL IS HUGE Landrieu sold her aye vote for a "hefty price." Landrieu was bought off in what Forbes Magazine dubbed "The 'Louisiana Purchase" that included a massive $4.3 Billion to Landrieu.

<><> Where's the $4.3 billion, Mary?

FORBES REPORTED the Democrats’ nailed Landrieu’s support for Obamacare w/ a greenback bribe. Landrieu, critics believe, pledged her vote in exchange for some $200 million more additional federal funds for Louisiana. Except that, due to a drafting error, the law ended up giving Louisiana $4.3 billion: more than twenty times the assigned amount. MORE HERE http://www.forbes.com/fdc/welcome_mjx.shtml

How $4.3 billion to Landrieu was attached to the Obamacare bill, and how Obama and Reid failed to catch and fix it, is yet annother indictment of the Obamacare atrocity. The payoff to Landrieu should be investigated as an indication of how EVERY Democrat came to vote for Obamacare.

<><> Where's the $4.3 billion, Mary?

BACKSTORY In the fall of 2009, Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nev.) was trying to get the necessary 60 Dimocrat votes to pass the Affordable Care Act. He needed every Dim on board, which gave waffling senators a great deal of leverage. In Landrieu's case, she connivingly saw that selling her aye vote could get her maybe $200 million federal dollars. Obama complied--- Reid chalked up another vote for Obamacare---and the $4.3 Landrieu giveaway was attached to the Obamacare bill.

<><> Where's the money, Mary?

I’m sick of the word nuance. Was that nuanced enough?

coming from the new Orleans newspaper, this is really big news.

Orleans Parish is the only parish in Louisiana that voted from Mary on her initial Senate run.

Her brother is the mayor there.

What Mary Landrieu has proved is that at best she is grossly negligent. She advocated ObamaCare, pushed ObamaCare, mouthed all the words of a supporter of ObamaCare, and she was a DECIDING VOTE FOR ObamaCare. And she did all that without ever having read ObamaCare even one time before it was passed.

Her loyalty was to her party and not to her state or her nation.

That should get her fired.

As long as there is an organization called ACORN, she will always win Orleans Parish. That’s how she won the first time. Woody Jenkins, her opponent, was winning in all the exit polls up until 5 PM that evening, and voila! Suddenly 100,000 voters suddenly showed up and voted for her (my husband calls her Hillary Landrieu) thanks to them getting bussed to the polls with the help of ACORN. My parents had died several years earlier, and I’m sure they voted for her from their graves.

I do not understand why all returns are not required to be turned in at exactly the same time. I don’t like this precinct reporting now, another reporting later, and another earlier. All should be kept under lock and key and kept secret. All made public at exactly the same time and all final.

I get a kick out of the author of this article taking on the commenters.

I particularly liked this Steyn-like quote: “There was a reason President Obama, when he spoke about ‘bending the curve’ on health care costs, left the arrow’s direction unspecified: he knew perfectly well it pointed up.
