Jewish students at Swarthmore College have become the first in the nation to break with the global student association Hillel and agree to open their doors to groups and speakers who do not support Israel.

The Swarthmore student board unanimously voted to renounce Hillel International's restrictions, which bar chapters from sponsoring events, hosting speakers, or partnering with groups that oppose Israel's right to exist or support a movement for universities to end investments in Israel because of its policies toward the Palestinians.

Students at the liberal Quaker college say they wanted to start a dialogue on Israel-Palestinian issues by holding joint events or inviting speakers who may have differing opinions about Israel.

That’s great, now this Hillel can compete with the rest of the campus organizations for anti-Israel speakers.

SO the one place on campus where a speaker might not be reflexively anti-Israel, now decides they are anti-Israel.

Those Jewish students are probably dating kids from the Catholic organization on campus who get a big kick out of inviting pro abortion speakers.

IIRC, Mike Dukakis is a Swarthmore grad.

One of his achievements was getting a "duty-to-flee" law passed to help eliminate the need for self defense.

“Students at the liberal Quaker college say they wanted to start a dialogue on Israel-Palestinian issues by holding joint events or inviting speakers who may have differing opinions about Israel.”

Such efforts should not be tried in the real world and will not work at their liberal college.

I hope the national organization places sanctions on the group.

Oops, Dukakis had three stints as Gov of MA. He lost his first re-election bid, and during his third term, he lost running for POTUS.

they wanted to start a dialogue...

"Dialogue" means that the conservatives, or in this case the pro-Israel folks, will be shouted down. It won't be a two-way street.

I wonder if the students at the “liberal Quaker” college ever wondered why there are no Quaker, Catholic, Jesuit, Baptist, or Jewish colleges in Muslim countries ?

the tragic Jewish suicide compulsion
has, it seems, reached to another generation

one might have thought that WW-II (and a half-dozen attempts since to kill the Jews by the IslamoNazi heirs of the Third Reich) would have informed these kids better, a lot better

but there’s no fool like a “liberal” fool, meaning someone who is trying to be a “good liberal” by supporting every false or wrong or evil or misguided or Satanic “cause” espoused by the left) It makes them feel good inside, like they are proving to themselves that they are “good”

...they will make good lampshades, too.

alas.
Pray for America.
Pray for Israel.
Pray for all the good Christians and Jews everywhere.
and yes, pray for these young fools too... that they see the light and grow up quickly!

You can’t have a discussion about “Israel-Palestinian” issues with people that raise their children to murder other children.

Another case of being so ‘smart’ that they become stupid and self destructive. Some may call them ‘mavericks’. The Palestinians are rigged and ready to steamroll all Jews who allow it. A new generation of Zionist must learn there is no virtue in painting a target around oneself then handing the paintbrush to your enemy who dreams of beating you with that same brush.

And the Islamic Student Organization, certainly, will follow suit and allow Pro-Israel speakers to come to their functions.

Why would someone want to discuss political philosophy with people that put explosives on their own children to use them as weapons of war? Does it make them feel smarter?

You have to be beyond stupid for that.

Now knowing that the Quakers were anti war to the core, this is a good example of why racial and political preferences in school admissions will always destroy the good in an institution. After all, how much cyanide in soup makes it unfit to eat. Putting soup in cyanide never makes it edible.

Universalism in the name of diversity is a lie from the pit of hell.

Schmai is reborn, seems every time that the Jews get home, the seeds of the next diaspora sprout. Good thing this return is the last.
