There are a few in my area; when I was younger I never thought they’d be so close to NYC. If I was a single guy I’d consider it; you can rent them (with a parking spot), and if the neighbors are pigs you can still combat vermin on your own. If the neighborhood goes south, you pack up & leave.

True - Americans aren’t making them, but they’re just subsidizing foregners’ kids at this point. In my sons’ schools, you can see the progression from oldest to youngest how many more “replacement Americans” are in the picture. These aren’t “gibsmedats”, but working people undercutting American wages - and they all qualify for the tax exemptions of these children (while many Americans, without children or mortgages, are paying more in taxes).
