Hillary voted for the Iraq War. In October 2002, she gave a fine speech explaining why we had to remove Saddam Hussein — fulfilling the pledge of Bill’s Iraq Liberation Act and his incomplete 1998 Desert Fox bombing — only to become a fierce critic of her 2002 position when the polls went south on the war and she started eyeing the presidency. The complete pullout from Iraq in 2009, while she was secretary of state, turned a successful post-surge landscape back to 2006, and was one of the real blunders of the last five years. (snip)

Then there was Benghazi. Every major statement that Hillary Clinton offered about Benghazi required a suspension of disbelief. The violence in Libya was never predicated on a video, but was a pre-planned hit. She knew before the attack that there was inadequate security, and later, after the violence commenced, she requested no help when help would have mattered. There was never an honest answer given about why Ambassador Stevens was in Benghazi in the first place, why he was worried about his safety, and what exactly the State Department was fronting for.

Hillary told the Senate Foreign Relations Committee: “What difference — at this point, what difference does it make?” Lots. When even liberal commentators now talk of a listless and directionless foreign policy, they should finish their sentence with references to a four-year Hillary Clinton tenure as secretary of state. And behind Hillary’s latest odyssey — from Benghazi to Goldman Sachs — are four dead Americans, and little other than untruth for their kin.

We need to know who funds the Clintons' political ambitions. It is important to know to whom the Clinton's, and their political pals, like Terry McAuliffe, are truly indebted. As President, Bill Clinton made policies that raised hundreds of billions (if not trillions) of dollars for his obscenely-rich donor/pals.

His North American Free Trade initiative made it easy for, and even encouraged, corporations to outsource jobs and then import their products back into the U.S...... The repeal of Glass-Steagall on his watch sent Wall Street into the money-making frenzy that led to the Great Recession/Depression of 2008......and subsequent taxpayer bailouts.

Being nicer to countries like Russia will not make them nicer to you. The United Nations is not an effective tool for resolving crises. Some foreign leaders are beyond persuasion and diplomacy. There is no “international community” ready to work together to solve problems, and there probably never will be.

You can pin this on Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, Susan Rice, but most of all, the buck stops with the president. Those of us who scoffed a bit at a state senator ascending to the presidency within four years on a wave of media hype and adoration are not quite so shocked by this current mess.

We never bought into this notion that getting greater cooperation from our allies, and less hostility from our enemies, was just a matter of giving this crew the wheel and letting them practice, as Hillary Clinton arrogantly declared it, “smart power” (and fronted Time magazine cover).

(These people can’t even label a foreign policy approach without reminding us of how highly they think of themselves.)

They looked out at the world at the end of the Bush years, and didn’t see tough decisions, unsolvable problems, unstable institutions, restless populations, technology enabling the impulse to destabilize existing institutions, evil men hungry for more power, and difficult trade-offs.

The Clintons are just the naturally occurring by-product of an underlying problem. For decades, we have been exporting far too many dollars abroad, and became the world’s largest debtor nation. All of those dollars in places like China and Saudi Arabia; all in the hands of foreign leaders looking to get the best return on an investment. So they buy America with what was once our own money. They buy the land. They buy our industries. They can also buy politicans. In the case of the Clinton Crime Syndicate, they found well-connected politicians with a cheap sale price.

That much money looks for a place where it can be used. If not the Clintons, it was going to be someone else. In fact, it already is. Foreign money that was once ours now runs our government.
