Facing a deadly resurgence of al-Qaida in Iraq, President Barack Obama signaled Friday that he will begin increasing U.S. military support for Baghdad after five years of reducing it.

The new U.S. plan represents a remarkable shift for Obama, whose administration trumpeted the 2011 withdrawal of the last U.S. troops from Iraq as a major achievement and has since shifted its attention to other regional challenges, such as Syria, Egypt and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Recent reports of “world leaders” not liking Obama and his agenda.

Not too hard to figure out.

The other night on Fox News, Dick Cheney ticked off all the signs that show Obama’s neglect of Iraq for political reasons has undone many of the gains and made the region more dangerous. Obama isn’t going to agree with Cheney any time in this life, but maybe his own people are telling him the same thing. I’m sure Obama will “get to the bottom of it”...

A day (well, quite a few days) late, and much more than a few dollars short.

Our effort there now is doomed, and there can be no good outcome ever.

Didn’t Nixon try to keep on fighting the Viet Nam War after Walter Cronkite declared it lost? And didn’t Nixon find himself drummed out of office?

Maybe he can send in the first gay brigade and see how they work out. I’m sure our Iraqi partners would enjoy working with them, and as a bonus they can teach the Iraqi people the benefits of gayness.

0bama never should've retreated from Iraq. We've lost many lives there and surrendering should never have been an option. THIS time though, we need to take their oil as compensation and BUILD A FEW PERMANENT BASES THERE AND NEVER LEAVE.

Leave before the job is done because of ignorant campaign promises, see bad result predictable to anyone but a liberal, start applying band-aid solutions. The Democratic way.

Anyway, I guess that gives this guy one more thing to despair about.

This was one of the things some of the Army officers I know were saying 3 years ago. That we’d end up having to go back in and fix what could have been prevented from being broken by leaving a residual force.

Obama lied, people died.

I hate to say it, but as long as Obama and his stooges are in charge, I’d rather NOT get involved in any more Middle Eastern wars—not even if he decides to fight them on the right side.

Yeah lets see how good those gay soldiers perfom in a live combat situation. I recommend using them for front line advancement formations. They like to use incrementalism in advancing political agendas. Lets see how well it works in combat situations...: )

Obama’s incompetence is absolutely unparalleled. How many lives could have been saved were it not for his hubris? He’s the keystone pResident.
