Security guard finds body of baby in bag of teen suspected of shoplifting at Victoria's Secret

Oct. 17, 2013 (LifeSiteNews.com) - A security officer who stopped two 17-year-old girls he suspected of shoplifting at a Victoria's Secret store in Manhatten got the shock of his life when he looked into one of the girl's bags. Inside was the body of a newborn baby boy.

According to CBS, the girl warned the officer that she had "a baby" in the bag.

The security official called police. The girl subsequently told the police that she gave birth on Wednesday, but didn't know what to do with the body of her baby.

The Medical Examiner's office is performing an autopsy on the baby, which should enable police to determine if the baby was born alive or not. The baby was reportedly at only five or six months gestation.

The episode is the latest in a series of bizarre and disturbing incidents in recent months in which newly born or miscarried babies have been flushed down toilets, abandoned in dumpsters, or thrown into trash cans.

Just last month, a baby was found, bleeding but alive, with part of his umbilical cord attached, on the concrete in the back yard of a house in Queen's, New York. In that case the story had a rare happy ending, with the baby surviving the abandonment.

Last month, a prominent Catholic deacon said that the rash of such incidents signals the return of the ancient pagan practice of “exposure,” in which parents would simply leave their unwanted newborn babies on a rock or in the wild to die.

“It was the Christians who saved [these babies] and transformed those cultures from cultures of death into cultures of life,” wrote Deacon Keith Fournier.

However, he said, the rise of the abortion culture seems to be bringing the custom back in an unofficial form, with numerous gruesome stories emerging in recent months of parents unceremoniously discarding their newborn children.

“These contemporary examples substitute a trash can or a dumpster for the rock,” Fournier wrote.

But, he said, this trend isn't surprising, since "babies are treated as trash” in abortion clinics across the country.

Who carries around a dead baby?

I mean, other than President Infanticide.

According to the Medical Examiner's office, the baby was born alive and later asphyxiated. Society continues its descent.

The girl did not know how to handle the situation. With all the money we pump into public schools, along with how to use a condom, it might be helpful to also instruct girls on what to do in such a situation.

Sickest thing I’ve heard in some time. This lost soul was walking around loose, crazy as that? Even in Manhattan that seems beyond the pale.

How do you instruct a 17 year old girl what to do with a baby she killed and keep in her handbag ?

I think that long lost art form of common sense should tell any normal human being to tell someone in an authoritative position..."I have a serious problem and need help"

She is either mentally deficient or simply a psychopath...

Part of any “sex education” program should be information on Safe Haven laws. Drop off the baby at a hospital, or manned police or fire station. No questions asked. But they don’t want the babies born alive.

This is her second baby, so she had more information than most teens.

I cannot fathom why she didn’t take the living baby to a fire department and abandon it. They would have gotten that baby some help... and, after medical treatment, some desperate childless couple might have adopted it when it was old enough to go home.

God help us.
