It's ironic that the first gun control laws in this country were intended to disarm black folks.

I think if you research it you will find the first gun laws were in NY, NY and intended to disarm the Irish and other non-English European immigrants... The boroughs' bosses and the country's first "police" force were having trouble extorting armed immigrants.
