Obama struggles with debt talk at Ford plant: ‘If we don’t raise the debt ceiling, we’re deadbeats’

Speaking at a Ford auto plant in Missouri, the president compared the debt-ceiling debate to a consumer loan on a new Ford F150 truck.

“This is important,” Mr. Obama said. “Raising the debt ceiling is not the same as approving more spending.

Plowing ahead, Mr. Obama said, “I — you don’t say, well, I’m not going — I’m not going to pay my — my — my bill, my note for my truck because I’m going to save money. No, you’re not saving money. You already bought the truck, right? You have to pay the bills. You — you are not — you’re not saving money.”

“You — you might have decided at the front end not to buy the truck,” Mr. Obama said. “But once you bought the truck, you can’t say you’re saving money just by not paying the bills. Does that make sense?”

What college? There is not one shred of evidence he ever attended Columbia. As for Harvard, that’s a complete joke.....

I think the man is cracking up.

Plus, they'd repo the truck dummy. But what else would you expect some faux academic to say? I'm starting to think Michelle is the brains in the family... And that is truly frightening!

I am. starting to really think he has never even been responsible for an eletric bill. Even as a community organizer. He just seems out of place in the real world.

Indeed.

When Obama did that, I personally buried GM as an option forever.

Me too. Got an Escape two years ago and have been very happy with it. Next year either an Explorer or SHO Taurus. No Obama-mobiles!

A republican should just go on television and explain to the people that maybe we shouldn’t buy any more trucks until the ones we already have are paid for. Most people should understand that.

So...we have to keep borrowing more money in order to pay our current bills. I am sure that this is a financial lesson that we all would teach to our children.

If you don’t show restraint and quit spending money you don’t have you may become a deadbeat.

It was an insult to the good workers of Ford to allow a cretin who wouldn’t qualify to sweep the floors there to speak.

This is "Mr. Eloquence" at his best???

<satire>
I have it on good authority that conservatives are driven to distraction by HIS mellifluous rhetoric because they can not compete with the "brilliantly eloquent" utterances of the most intelligent person to hold the office of President since time began.

This is why we hear nothing from the right but moans of despair, wailing, gnashing of teeth, and groans of agony.

They are unable to develop coherent thoughts nor construct meaningful syllogisms when faced with HIS effulgent discourse.

Thus, those of the right are properly consigned to the outer darkness as they have nothing meaningful to add to the dialog. While we, the enlightened, bask in the blazing nimbus of HIS glory, as we await with bated breath the moment when HE, in HIS infinite wisdom, bestows upon us yet another priceless pearl of HIS overwhelming perspicacity.</satire>

So endith today's lesson, depart in peace...

Regards,
GtG

Actually, what he’s saying is logical but also nonsensical at the same time.

Each and every day all of us can continue to spend money that we don’t have and at the same time seek an increase in our line of credit to cover it.

It just hasn’t dawned on Obama to consider stopping the spending possibly given that someone is willing to loan us more money at the same time. Yes, logical but in the long term fiscal insanity.

...given that someone is willing to loan us more money at the same time....

And the Fed is making the loans. It’s like using a credit card to buy your wife’s debt, then claiming the debt as an asset. Insanity.
