WASHINGTON — House Republicans united Wednesday around a plan to use the threat of a government shutdown as leverage to repeal President Obama's healthcare law, confident the American people are on their side.
House Speaker John A. Boehner (R-Ohio) yielded to his right flank by agreeing to attach the healthcare law repeal to a must-pass bill to keep the government funded past Sept. 30. A vote is expected Friday on a bill that would allow the government to stay open for the next few months.
The measure is all but certain to pass the Republican-led House, but faces rejection in the Senate, where the Democratic majority has shown little interest in undoing Obama's signature domestic achievement.

Why not have the true Republicans require a BINDING, updated, “Federal Financial Impact Statement” for 2012-2013 fiscal year, and 2013-2014 f. y. for Obama”care?”
It should take a month or two to complete, allow for a vote to delay Obama”care” for a year, and then show the great financial harm to our Economy that the Statement’s numbers will document.
Wharton, Stanford, Michigan and Princeton could also file their independent Financial Impact Statements to compare to the Office of Budget and the Congressional Budget Office Financial Impact Statements.
As B. Hussein is fond of saying: “We need to get all the facts first.”
Obamacare requires citizens to forfeit their first amendment rights if they choose to engage in a for-profit activity (See: Hobby Lobby). Obamacare requires every citizen to purchase a product in order to be in lawful compliance as a citizen. Obamacare transforms every individual American from a person endowed by their creator into a budgetary item of the government. Not an argument we can lose if articulated.
This time the MSM is swimming upstream. A Rasmussen (I think) poll showed a majority of likely voters would rather see the government shut down than fund Obiecare.
This is going to backfire on Obama. If CBS or whoever are sitting in the WH press briefing and insisting that Obama is initiating a shutdown, it may as well be over for Obama.
