On board flight out of #DCA. Still on runway. Flight crew just told us "all planes have been grounded indefinitely." No reason given.@wusa9

It would make sense that all incoming flights from any airport to Reagan would be grounded since the airport is locked down, so to speak.

Washington Reagan National Airport (DCA) is not next to southern Arlington, Virginia. It is in southern Arlington County, Virginia. All land on the far side of the Potomac River ceded by the Commonwealth of Virginia to the federal government in 1791 to be part of the 100 square mile District of Columbia was retroceded to Virginia in 1847.

Any mere individual firearm of traditional basic kind of round is a pop gun compared to RPGs and other true guns expressly meant as a group as MIL armament. And with the distance from airport and angles of runways, I doubt any mere hand-gun could do any damage or even hit.
Already heard it’s because of the traffic of helicopters for the incident.

Not really. You have to change trains to go from NY to airport. That bungles it up just a bit.
NY is not that easily accessible from airport for an individual running around. Period. From any source.

2 miles up the Anacostia when the area is on alert is a very long trip for a guy to make even with a motor. He’s dead in the water trying that.

I know that the Navy Yard is on the Anacostia River. But I was commenting to someone who thought Reagan National Airport was on the same side of the Potomac river as the Navy Yard. Thus, I said it’s across the Potomac. Sorry about any confusion. Someone in the Navy Yard could fire a missile and hit a plane taking off or landing at Reagan.

I did not say it was on the same side of Potomac. They are far enough apart to be very inconvenient for 1 party to commit multiple attacks in each place, or too far for mere hand-guns to hit a plane. Missiles and rockets are very different from mere bullets.

What are you talking about? The Navy Yard and Bolling AFB are in DC NOT NY, no one was talking about NY. There is a station just up the street from the Navy Yard, so once you get in the station the airport is only a few minutes away.
