The Hamas government said Sunday it was "surprised" to hear that Egypt is planning to create a buffer zone along the border with the Gaza Strip.

Ehab Ghissin, spokesman for the Hamas government, said that there should be no buffer zones "between brothers and friendly countries."

Ghissin expressed hope that the Egyptian move would not "solidify the blockade" and increase the suffering of the people in the Gaza Strip.

He called for establishing a free trade area instead of a buffer zone along the border between the Gaza Strip and Egypt.

Egyptian newspapers quoted Palestinian sources as saying that 90% of the smuggling tunnels along the border with the Gaza Strip have stopped functioning as a result of Egypt's security measures.

The sources said that the Egyptian army was waging an "unprecedented" campaign to destroy houses and tunnels.

If the Egyptians see merit in protecting their borders with supposed countrymen, then why can’t we protect our borders against admitted foreigners?

Egyptian military has already demolished housing and buildings bordering the Gaza Strip and destroyed nearly all the tunnels beneath them.

It appears they are serious about cooperation with Israel for security and the Peace Accord. Russia backs these actions with both Nations.

By contrast, the corrupted, selfish, whoring
US Congress INSISTS that the US border
remain open to terrorists, murderers, narcoterrorists.

We let in the wrong ones (Muslims, whether from the ME or Europe) for the wrong reasons(”family reunion”) and keep out the good ones or the hard-working ones (such as Latin Americans...a large part of whose legal quota was taken by Obama immediately after his inauguration and reassigned to to Muslims).

The places where immigration falls down are not so much the borders, but the ports of entry, such as JFK or any large international airport, where all the wrong people are admitted LEGALLY.

So it’s apparently possible to control a border? Who knew?

Since Gaza and the West Bank aren’t countries, that should ease the mind of, Ehab Ghissin, spokesman for the Hamas government, [who] said that, “...there should be no buffer zones between brothers and friendly countries.”

As for Israel and Egypt, the ones that count, it just might strengthen somewhat friendly countries.

What is it about the poor Palestinians in Gaza that has everyone forcing isolation on them? Building walls, buffer zones. Bubonic plague? Hamas' version of Obamacare?

I'm sure the smuggling tunnels, secret or otherwise are in the process of being blown up, as well.

You know what time it must be, kiddies?

Time for Erdogan to start organizing another attempt to break through the Israeli naval blockade!
