A leaked draft of the U.N.’s latest climate assessment rates the probability that human action is warming the planet as a near certainty. Six years ago, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change concluded with 90 percent certainty that human activity has caused most of the planet’s warming over the past half-century. This year’s draft raises the probability to 95 percent. The small cadre of committed skeptics likely will dismiss the latest finding as yet another lie by a vast conspiracy bent on imposing one-world government. Two decades ago that might have been a defensible position. Today it is laughable. Just look at how hard the Obama administration has tried to keep domestic spying by the NSA secret — and how little success it has had doing so. The NSA’s activities are highly classified. The data on climate, by contrast, are open to scrutiny by anyone, which should make exposing any falsehoods a piece of cake. Yet during the past two decades the case for the anthropogenic thesis has grown stronger — not weaker. The latest assessment by the world’s best scientific minds says it has grown stronger still. It is long past time to stop debating the fact of global warming and start debating how to deal with it.

Continued skepticism about the causes of “global warming” is not laughable as you opine.
What is laughable is that the media by their unprecedented partisan advocacy, their continuing lapse in social responsibility to research, interrogate, and report facts instead of “opine” like all the trendy amateur metro-moronic blog sites, has lost ALL credibility with the public on this or any other issue.
You are no longer believed. We think you are liars. How harsh it that?

I would like to read and respond directly to the UN study (definitely not a laughable institution</sarcasm>) in specific detail.....but since you failed to provide ANY proof of its existence by link or reference...I can’t do that. And that is BAD reporting and BAD journalism. I am not even sure that all these studies even exist anymore. “Leaked?” “Draft?”...give me a flipping break. How about waiting like they teach in Science 101 for RELEASED and REVIEWED.
Global warming is the joke. Arrived at only in the fevered imaginations of pimpled little lab rats and bloated bureaucrats “conforming” self admittedly despoiled and fabricated data to fit a predetermined self serving outcome. Man bad. Gaia goddess good. All bow to Gaia goddess and pay carbon tax tithe to the new high priests.
Man made, or even influenced global warming with the “proof” being proffered by its compromised advocates is the moral and intellectual equivalent of grass skirted Polynesian pagan priests herding their frightened little tribe to the rim of the volcano. There, they toss in another virgin or two to appease the unhappy lava god.
Continue to believe exactly what you have been told and conditioned to believe. Mislead as many other fools as you can.

The problem for the AGW scammers is that the data is, as they say, available. Others not party to the scam have analyzed the data and do not draw the same alarmist, used car salesman “act now” conclusions. The scammers are doing what scammers do everywhere, playing on fear, pushing hasty decisions, and counting on people to be too lazy to check for themselves. Anytime anyone is pushing “act now or else!” Hold on to your wallet and step back from the situation. If it smells like a scam, it probably is. AGW stinks to high hheaven.

This in support of an organization (the IPCC) that beclowned itself by stating that if we didn’t do something RIGHT NOW the Himalayan glaciers would all melt by 2035.

One unsupported assertion after another are used to claim that global warming is caused by you (mankind). No discussion about global cooling, the role of the Sun, why the "case" for anthropogenic causes is "stronger" not weaker, and how the so called "scientific" minds say it has grown stronger. All nonsensical statements by an unsigned editorial writer.
Anthropogenic causes of global warming have been discredited by the data more than once. Only those with a vested interest in global warming still support it.
I understand the difference between Virginia, the real Virginia, and the liberal eastern VA.
But still it is hard to believe that the real Virginians would put up with this crap.
Or maybe its just another attempt by the marxists panhandlers and assorted third world losers in the UN to extort money from western taxpayers.
Although I fully understand that doesn't sound as laughable as "a vast conspiracy bent on one world government".
