I don’t understand how the judge was able to find the defendant guilty using the “beyond a reasonable doubt” standard. The evidence was simply not there.

It leads me to believe the judge is either corrupt or outright incompetent.

“The Commonwealth Attorney wanted Coast to serve four years, the same amount of time Montgomery had served.”

I have a real problem with that. She should serve MORE than he did. She is guilty. He was completely innocent and didn’t deserve to spend 10 minutes in jail let alone 4 years.

Thou Shalt Not Bear False Witness.

Obviously this crime is unimportant because it's prohibition came directly from the Lord.

“Coast says, “I never forgot, I never forgot about Jonathan. It wrecked my life.””

Yeah, it’s still all about you, isn’t it? I think your victim’s life has been hit just a bit harder by the wrecking ball than yours has, you witch.

The damage done here is incalculable. Leaving aside the 4 years of prime life this guy lost because of her lies, there is the taint on his name that’s going to follow him. Being accused of a sex crime carries a stigma with it, especially when the alleged crime took place “when she was much younger”. That he is innocent and was exonerated will not necessarily rid him of that stigma. And then there is the possible damage done to future genuine rape victims in the area, whose stories might be taken with a larger amount of skepticism because of this conniving brat’s antics.

He spent four months in jail —did he get raped?

Getting raped for NOT raping is pretty bad, I’d say.

In fact A LOT of rape claims are false.

Guys slug it out, but when a girl really wants to fight sometimes she gets OTHER people to get at the guy, and in some cases the “other people” are the freaking COPS.

ANY cop knows that 1/2 of all real rapes are never reported and maybe 1/2 of the ones that are never actually happened.

It is far too easy to send a man to prison for rape.

This is the practical reason why (along with the moral one of protecting life) there can never be an rape exemption if abortion were once again outlawed.

If abortion were outlawed with a rape exemption the number of false rape allegations would skyrocket and countless innocent men would face prison so that selfish women could get out of having a child.

I know people are upset because she is only serving 2 months versus the 4 years he served due to her perjury, but how willing would people be to recant their testimony and get innocent people out of prison if the punishment for doing so was severe? I know, it’s not “fair”.

Coast says she never thought the lie would hurt Montgomery

She had no idea that being convicted of a felony followed by long term imprisonment might affect his life! It just never occurred to her! A person can't know everything!

Coast has to pay $90,000 in restitution to Montgomery.

And the odds of him collecting a cent are... ?

The now 23-year-old will be locked up every weekend for the next seven months.

It was really really hard for her to work this into her busy schedule, but with the judge's help, she did it!

Coast says, “I never forgot, I never forgot about Jonathan. It wrecked my life.”

"My life." Vanity, thy name is Elizabeth Coast.

Why don't we just make it official that false accusation of rape is no longer a crime in Feminist America?

Sounds like she's been taking lessons from C.A.I.R.: commit the crime, then claim victimhood while shedding alligator tears.

4 years vs 30 weekends is supposed to be justice? Especially so, when one considers that those "weekends" are (in many jurisdictions) "in late; out early", and counted like Biblical regnal year counts: part of a day is counted as a full day. Cumulatively, it adds up to one heck of a lot less than 60 consecutive days in the slammer.

5 or 6 hours Friday evening; full 24 hours Saturday; 8-12 hours Sunday, a total of 40 hours giving 2 (sometimes 3) full days credit. Notice how much of that is sack time. That gives her an automatic 240 hour/10 day reduction of time actually spent in jail, minimum, (more if it's a 3-day credit) before any "good time" is subtracted. What a deal!

And I'll bet the restitution is paid at about the same rate Tawana Brawley is "paying off" her order.
