Darrell Issa to Investigate Reinstatement of Benghazi Security Employees
Free Beacon ^ | 8/20/13 | Adam Kredo

The House Oversight Committee will launch an investigation into the State Department following reports that Secretary of State John Kerry fully reinstated four employees who were faulted for security failures relating to the Sept. 11, 2012, terror attacks in Benghazi, Libya, that killed four Americans.

Oversight chairman Darrell Issa (R., Calif.) announced Tuesday that his committee “will expand its investigation of the Benghazi terrorist attack to include how a supposed ‘Accountability Review Board’ investigation [run by the State Department] resulted in a decision by Secretary Kerry not to pursue any accountability from anyone.”

Four State Department employees were found to have failed in their duties during the Benghazi attack. Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton placed the employees on paid administrative leave.

However, reports emerged late Monday that the four employees would be fully reinstated by Kerry and would not face any disciplinary action.

Former Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Raymond Maxwell, one of the employees in question, told the Daily Beast on Monday that he was told in a memo to come back to work on Tuesday morning.

“No explanation, no briefing, just come back to work. So I will go in tomorrow,” Maxwell said.

No kidding! Everyone should listen to the first part of Mark Levin’s radio show on Friday, Aug. 16. Obama has become a king and nobody is doing anything about the impeachable offenses he is committing. Frightening.

I suspect they are pacing themselves for these scandals to completely blow up in 2014 when they will have the maximum political effect at the voting booths...

Why are you giving the beltway GOP the benefit of the doubt on this? What exactly have they done to deserve that?

The reality is this is more of the same. A tip toe strategy from the same cast of losers in the beltway GOP. Refusing to engage the Dems and relying on voters to do the heavy lifting is how we got in this mess in the first place. More of that bad strategy isn’t going to suddenly result in wins.

Dang! I'm too late! I was trying to get in before the "what Issa is trying to build a case for..." posts.

I'm way past the *Issa's building* anything mode. The time for SP action is way overdue.

How do you recommend we light a fire under Issa and Boehner to do their jobs?

‘Cause right now I’m leaning towards Kingsford and a match...

Something you and I agree on. ;-)

Now, again... What do we do about it?

I have my ideas, but they all require folks to bleed. Some of them, a lot.

Anything shy of that you can think of should probably be shared with the group...

The IRS scandal has impeachment written all over it. The House can indict, but it requires the Senate to convict. That ain’t gonna happen in 2013. In 2014 when you have so many vulnerable Dem Senators seats up for election their perspective might be different.

If they are not inclined, impeachment can be a campaign theme for Republicans to retake the Senate and in early 2015 begin the impeachment hearings.

“The time for SP action is way overdue.”

I agree. They got an SP and impeachment with Clinton, but there was still no substantial accountability.

This has just become more kabuki theater to fool the sheeple into believing they are represented in Washington.

Nice tagline. It sad how our public schools have become nothing but Marxist moron mills.

An administration like this one needs a lot of rope with which to hang themselves. It may seem like a long time coming, but they will reap what they sow.

Yeah... Gotta be careful of that. The ears have walls, Tom has a long mustache, and your mileage may vary.

We need more “Boston Caucus Club” and less NSA snoopery...

Issa is “investigating” so many things that he is investigating nothing. The congress is spineless and ballless. They are flaccid.

So far it has kept a lot of conservatives on the plantation. Issa says the word ‘investigate’ and the right gets all warm and fuzzy. And a year later he finds another thing to investigate. and on and on.

I think at this point most people know damn well he will do nothing but are to ashamed of themselves to just admit it.

Issa, just go back to asleep. You are worthless. You should have indited many by now and some should be in jail. Damn poor chairman that is using the excuse that we have to get all the information first. That, jackass, is the trouble with the GOP. Gutless asses. Nobody will be charges with anything and Benghazi and the communists machine has beaten Issa.

It makes one wonder why the Rats always get traction by accusing the Reps of playing politics with events. Not.
