Hannity's Right: Cumulus Managing Its Radio Stations Into the Dirt
Newsbusters ^ | August 19, 2013

NewsBusters reported Friday that counter to claims by the liberal media, conservative talk radio host Sean Hannity fired the Cumulus network due to his concerns about how the owners are managing their stations.

Data obtained by NewsBusters show that Hannity is actually right, and that in the key demographic of people aged 25 to 54, Cumulus has lost roughly 50 percent of its listeners since buying the stations in September 2011.

Here are the numbers:

New York WABC down 45.3 percent Los Angeles KABC down 61.9 percent

Cumulus dropped ESPN from the local sports radio station in my sleepy little burg and replaced them with an even lamer CBS Sports format. They did this in 47 markets. ESPN was my go-to button when Hannity got to be too much (ok, almost daily). No, Cumulus’ problems are of Cumulus own making.

WBAP in the DFW metroplex has become kind of sucky. Lots of technical issues and their morning talker is unlistenable. I find myself switching over Diane Rehm on PBS he’s so bad.

Not sure whether you can find a station that has his programs but Michael Berry is on our local AM station at 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. CDT. Also hear Rush and others on same station. Great talk radio show host. Know he’s live stream on the internet. If you like Rush and Mark, you should enjoy listening to Michael. He’s always all over Sheila Jackson Lee like white on rice and is not at all PC.

I stopped listening to WBAP years ago. Try 660 Ksky. 570 has Savage on at 8pm if you need an alternative to the fairy Ferguson on WBAP.
The radio station buyout in 2011 really changed the number of conservative talkers in DFW. Now it’s soccer mom talk, sports crap-o-la and the fed propaganda sandwich. Throw in the no credit guy and its enough to make a guy listen to music! Na, nothing’s that bad......

The ONLY time I listen to WABC is when WGY in Albany is acting up for some reason. But I like WGY much better. It’s clear channel I think.
