Obama and Cruz both fail. Both only have one citizen parent. BVB

Doesn't matter. There is no Constitutional, legal or historical qualification at all that a person has to have more than one citizen parent in order to be a natural born citizen.

In fact, if you're born on US soil to resident parents, you don't have to have any citizen parents at all.

The birthers will squeal and scream and cry "LIAR!" "TRAITOR!" but that is the HISTORICAL FACT.

And as Bayard said, "It is only requisite that a man - or woman - be born a citizen."

False. Bayard said it doesn't matter where a person is born to be a natural born citizen as long as both of their parents are citizens at the time of the child's birth.

“It is not necessary that a man should be born in this country, to be ‘a natural born citizen.’ It is only requisite that he should be a citizen by birth, and that is the case with all the children of citizens who have ever resided in this country, though born in a foreign country.”
This won't make any difference as what will happen with Obama or Cruz. I only posted to show your example states a natural born citizen has both citizen parents. It does not matter where they are born. BVB

It's not false. Your post is a great example of what lengths people like you will go to to deny reality.

Bayard clearly said:

It is only requisite that he should be a citizen by birth.

Bayard clearly said:

It is only requisite that he should be a citizen by birth.

But you deliberately leave out the fact that Bayard believes the only way to *BE* a citizen by birth is by having a FATHER who is a citizen.

I told you the very first time you brought this up that the statement by Bayard is correct if you postulate that a Citizen father is a necessity.

United States Secretary of State Thomas F Bayard.

Once again, according to BAYARD's Understanding, if your father wasn't a citizen, you can't be *BORN* a citizen.

Again, I told you the very first time you brought this up. Rather than UNDERSTAND the point, you simply kept repeating your false understanding over and over and over and over again.

No citizen father? No citizen at birth!

GROW UP!

Which can only occur if your FATHER is a citizen. Yes. Bayard is very clear about that. Jeff just wants all of us to ignore that crucial detail though.

Jeff works like a little elf shoe cobbler in the night to spread his false understanding of the truth.

Unfortunately his work product is not good, it is evil. He spreads false information and disinformation as his day's work.

Once again Jeff, prior to 1922, it was not possible to have a parents of different allegiances. The norm was that both parents were always of the same allegiance, but it was the Father's allegiance which was always the determining factor as to what that was.

In fact, if you're born on US soil to resident parents, you don't have to have any citizen parents at all.

To be a 14th amendment statutory citizen. We all know that the 14th amendment doesn't control "natural born citizen" because those existed BEFORE the 14th amendment, and also because Justice Waite TOLD US that the 14th amendment didn't determine "natural born citizen" status.

Once again, Jeff is attempting to mislead people by asserting citizenship through the misunderstood operation of the 14th amendment is exactly equal to "natural born citizen" status.

Jeff is just a blatant equivocator.

The birthers will squeal and scream and cry "LIAR!" "TRAITOR!" but that is the HISTORICAL FACT.

Once again, the fact that the 14th amendment will make someone a citizen may be a historical fact, but it does not support your argument that someone born here of Alien parents is a "natural citizen." That is the part which is deceitful, and that is why people will call you "LIAR!"

It's because you ARE Lying. You've been shown better numerous times, yet you keep asserting things such as this, which are not true.

Wrong again. I have seen people take things out of context to prove a point. You have taken that a step further. You put a period where a coma should be and then leave off the rest of the sentence.

, and that is the case with all the children of citizens who have ever resided in this country, though born in a foreign country.”

That is where he describes what it takes to be a citizen by birth. All the children born of citizens who have resided in this country.

Obama, Cruz, Rubio and Jindal all fail that requirement. BVB

Okay. And that is the case with all the children of citizens who have ever resided in this country, though born in a foreign country.

But that’s not the main and controlling idea. That is a following thought, an EXAMPLE of Bayard’s main point. It’s not a qualifier. It’s a consequence of the main point.

This is basic English. Go and ask your English teacher.

What do you consider to be Byard’s main and controlling idea?
