Correction, 12:26 p.m. ET: An original version of this story said that Reince Priebus referred to Mitt Romney’s comments as “racist.” He said it “hurts us.” Business Insider regrets the error.

I’ll be getting another call from the RNC asking for money soon, I’ve not given anything for a long time and everytime they call I tell them why. Instead of doing anything positive they just keep getting worse. I told them last week they need to be listening to Ted Cruz and Louis Gohmert.

Ok, so we can't say anything that can be perceived the slightest bit racist else we offend a group that goes by the slogan, "everything inside the race, nothing outside" (or something very close.

Got it.

This is why I can not support the GOP.

The proverbial 'correction' was issued. REGARDLESS, the GOP appears clueless on the ILLEGAL ALIEN Problem. Which has NOTHING to do with immigration.

As long as the gravy train continues in their eyes then they are safe and they believe that they will finally be liked by the media in these interviews and cocktail parties

And they will be "liked by the media" and at those "cocktail parties" -- because they will have demonstrated that they know how to be a well-behaved minority -- like the Bob Michel Republicans.

Recall that it took a Ronald Reagan and, then, a Newt Gingrich to drag the GOP-e kicking and screaming into majority status and actual leadership.

As an institution, the national Republican party has always been uncomfortable in the majority.

Reince Priebus seems to have a basic confusion as to which side he’s batting for. In more ways than one. Are we sure he’s on the GOP payroll and not the other one?

That's because there are no jobs here! (The Obama admin won't admit that little fact when they brag about how well they are doing at stemming the tide of illegals.) The illegals who came here to work are not stupid. Without jobs they have self-deported.

Now if our "leaders" would show enough spine to take away the freebies, an even greater % would leave and we wouldn't have quite the illegal immigration problem.

Priebus real comment... “I don’t think it has anything to do with our party. When a candidate makes those comments, obviously, it hurts us.”

Republicans are trying to get elected by being democrats.
Never work.
I will not vote for a Republican acting like a democrat.

Actually, it was one of the best things to ever come out of Mitt Romney’s mouth. The only shame is that he wasn’t sincere about it, since Massachusetts became a haven for illegals under his watch.

According to Priebus, it’s “racist” to deny taxpayer-funded social services to people who have no legal right or business being here to begin with. Is he in the right political party? Sadly, I’m afraid that he is.

“We cant send them all back”

Of all the arguments for amnesty, this is the most idiotic. We can't possibly catch all thieves either, does this mean we should give them all amnesty too?

Amnesty advocates know that this is a specious argument. Mitt Romney knew it when he made it in 2007, because in 2012 he advocated the perfect solution: you don't have to round any of them up. Just deny them social services (which they are not entitled to by law), and most of them will leave on their own. Great idea, if only Romney was sincere and believed it.

Makes sense to me that if we stop giving the illegals free healthcare, food stamps and general welfare and stop giving them jobs instead of hiring citizens, they would self deport. What’s racist about that?

You're trying to apply common sense, reason, and law to the situation. Meanwhile, people like Priebus are in the middle of an orgy of pandering to illegals and their enablers. Don't be a wet blanket!

If the GOP favors amnesty and citizenship for millions of invaders, and this means millions more invaders will come, I will never vote GOP.

Great strategy the GOP has, doesn't it? Pander to people who won't vote for Republicans anyway while alienating the core base, almost all of whom want immigration law enforced.

As far as I'm concerned, if the GOP backs amnesty for illegals and runs candidates who do, they deserve to lose every election from now on. What's the point of even having a Republican party if all they offer is a watered-down version of the same crap that the Democrats are peddling?

Yes, according to the GOP Lite, we should just hand them welfare, cushy digs, and their own Mercedes, I suppose.

Everytime I read crap like this, I’m so glad I broke with these commodious cowards a while ago.

Not sure which is more silly:

Mitten's statement he didn't even mean or Rep Probate's statement that he did mean.

Why do we have to find a path to citizenship? We have laws on the numbers of legals who can get on the path to citizenship.

What is wrong with green card work visas and go home when it ends? Why are we obligated to give citizenship because they want it (many don't--they just want freebies)? We aren't! We cannot afford to give it.

The language has been turned to equate following the laws for immigration with racism--How I hate that word and its over usage. "Racism" is to Dems/libs as "Waah is to a child who doesn't get it's way.

Just cut it out; don't give in to it. Send the kid to its room.
