Michael Savage Predicts He Will Replace Hannity at Cumulus, Limbaugh Likely to Stay
Mediaite ^ | August 15, 2013 | Matt Wilstein

Posted on 08/15/2013 7:05:37 PM PDT by NotYourAverageDhimmi

Conservative radio host Michael Savage teased a “major announcement” on his website earlier today, and tonight, he delivered. Savage predicted that he will be replacing Sean Hannity’s time slot on Cumulus Media’s network of stations. While Hannity’s fate appeared to be tied to that of Rush Limbaugh in the initial reports on the Cumulus move, Mediaite has learned from a talk radio source Limbaugh is likely to stay. Mediaite has also learned from multiple talk radio sources that Savage’s prediction will likely be confirmed soon.

“I predict, right here, right now, that I Michael Savage and the Savage Nation is going to take over The Sean Hannity Show time slot by the end of the year,” Savage said. “He’s probably a nice guy, but his time is come and his time has gone,” he continued, and “I am the heir apparent to afternoon drive on the east coast and around America on Cumulus stations, which have the most powerful stations in the radio world.”

If Hannity’s strong right-wing views were the impetus for Cumulus’ decision to potentially let him go, they would not be getting anything less conservative in Savage. The host has a long history of causing controversy with his remarks, dating back at least 10 years to the comments that caused MSNBC to fire him. Since then, he has blamed Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts’ epilepsy medicine for his health care ruling, mocked Fox News’ “empty skirts” and “lipsticks with legs” and labeled President Obama the “first Muslim president.”

Savage also has a history of animosity with the man he says he’s replacing. He recently called Hannity a “fake conservative” and one of the “most shallow men in the America media.”

Sean has nothing new to offer and just keeps up the same old thing. Listen to him once and you’ve heard everything he has in his bag.
I can’t listen to Savage however, he is a screaming loon. Once Limbaugh retires (soon imho), Conservative talk radio is dead.

“my boating and my cynical worldview all seem to resonate with the ‘millenials,’ who are jaded and seeking answers from a trusted older man.”

More than a little creepy. Is he right though? Doubt it.

Savage comes on — I change the dial.

I heard him tonight while driving, and after a few minutes — I put on some Wagnerian music. Easier on the ears and heart and soul.

Alex Jones calling Piers Morgan a hatchet man for the NWO is one of my top comments of the year. Priceless.

I listen to both Hannity and Savage without a great deal of enthusiasm. My fav radio talk guy has become Chris Plante.

They are trying anything.

Yes, and as I noted on a previous post to this thread, this whole dust up may be shown in retrospect (depending how they play it) to have been their jump the shark moment.)

Thats right. Weiner is a Moonbeam donor.

He justifies that because no Republican had a chance to win the governorship in CA and Brown was the least damaging of the Demonrats.

The funniest part was Piers’ inability to handle Jones’ rantings. He was totally unequipped.

...and Rush actually has reason to be a braggart.

Agreed, but Rush's braggadocio is largely tongue-in-cheek while Savage's isn't.

So...Cumulus is going to replace a host with sagging ratings for siding with the Hispanic KKK on the Amnesty issue....with a host with sagging ratings for siding with the Black KKK on the George Zimmerman trial....

That’s real brillant!

if you have Cumulus stock...dump it immediately

He justifies that because no Republican had a chance to win the governorship in CA and Brown was the least damaging of the Demonrats.

No wonder he holds onto his cult listeners, the race was for state Attorney General, not Governor and it was for the general election, not the primary.

""Strange bedfellows: It turns out that ultra-hot conservative talk show host Michael Savage is backing Oakland Mayor Jerry Brown for state attorney general. "What can I say? I think he'd make a great attorney general compared to the other guy. By the way, who is the other guy?'' Savage said, when asked why he chose Democrat Brown over conservative Republican Chuck Poochigian. Savage, whose rants can be heard locally on KNEW-AM, is backing up his hot talk with some hot money as well. Savage Productions, which lists Savage as president and his wife, Janet Weiner, as director, has donated $5,600 to Brown's campaign. "You have to make choices in an imperfect world,'' Savage said. "And this, this Machugian guy. (Like we said, it's Poochigian.) I never heard of him. I don't even know who he is." Poochigian has spent the past 12 years in Sacramento, first in the Assembly and now in the Senate. Doesn't impress the president of the Savage Nation. "Why bet on a horse that isn't going to win? Why throw your money into the garbage?'' So how did the best-selling author of "Liberalism is a Mental Disorder'' wind up backing a liberal once nicknamed "Governor Moonbeam"? "People change. He changed. He has experience,'' Savage said of Brown. "He started the Oakland military academy -- that was a good thing." And Brown's politics? "He's moved to the center, which is what this socialist state needs," Savage said.""

It still mystifies me why more than a handful of people listen to Savage.

On the other side why do people listen to the some ole of Hannity?

He voted for Jerry Moonbeam Brown what does that tell you.

I'm Not so sure of that but we here in California never have a true (R) running. I now wish that we would not have pushed Davis out & got Aharnold. That was a big mistake but Kalifooneeha is today a big mistake (political).

Savage, despite his idiosyncrasies still comes up with gems. For example he just stated that the Iraq/Afghanistan wars have factored large in the bankruptcy of the nation, with stories about buttloads of money on palettes going to these hellholes that neither Rush nor Hannity will even mention, as these reports just go down the memory hole. I cringe at Savage’s hubris sometimes, it detracts greatly from the show overall, but he has a certain “red meat” factor that the others lack.

Right on. The above two mentioned don't vary.

I am in Northern California and he did vote for Jerry Brown he talks about on his show and is sometimes remorseful about it. You are right that we never have true conservatives running Rinos at best ala Meg Whitman who was on Gloria Allreds hit list who went after her during the election with Meg’s former employees accusations who I beleive was in the US illegally.
California is screwed and deep blue and where I live it’s deep deep blue.
