LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) A Los Angeles City Council committee Tuesday will discuss a motion that would give Los Angeles residents access to free wireless Internet service.
Councilman Bob Blumenfield introduced the motion last week, saying that free WiFi would benefit local government, businesses and visitors in addition to those who cannot afford it.
Currently, the city offers free WiFi at libraries. If approved, Los Angeles would be the largest municipality to offer the service.
The motion will be discussed amongst the councils Innovation, Technology and General Services Committee.
Porn for all.
If the city government owns the wifi infrastructure, will this allow them to spy on internet traffic as easily as some other governments can do? Can they turn it off at their pleasure, control access to political opponents, etc.?

Though the disgruntled ex-Comcast customer in me kind of likes this idea...
Yes, yes and yes.
Wow, it’s a good thing the council has solved the rest of the world’s problems!

As far as the ‘Rats are concerned, the greatest of the greatest world problem is that the taxpayers still have money.
