Florida Republican calls Obamacare tax ‘racist’ against whites

Republican Rep. Ted Yoho said a tax on tanning salons included in President Obama’s health care overhaul law is “racist” against white people.

At a town hall meeting in his north Florida district earlier this month, the freshman Tea Party favorite suggested the 10 percent tax was discriminatory because “dark skin” people don’t using tanning booths.

“I had a little fun with [House Speaker] Boehner and told him about the sun tanning tax. He goes, ‘I didn’t know it was in there,’” Yoho told his constituents in an audio clip of the event posted on Right Wing Watch, a blog by the liberal group People for the American Way. “I said, ‘Yes, it’s a 10 percent tax.’ He goes, ‘Well, that’s not that big of a deal.’ I said, ‘It’s a racist tax.’”

The crowd can be heard on the clip erupting in laughter and applause.

Yoho goes on to recall what he said was a recent visit to one of his offices by an “Indian doctor.”

He was “very dark skin, with two non-dark skin people, and I asked this to him, I said, ‘Have you ever been to a tanning booth?’ and he goes, ‘No, no need.’ So therefore it’s a racist tax and I thought I might need to get to a sun tanning booth so I can come out and say I’ve been disenfranchised because I got taxed because of the color of my skin.”

When this tax went into effect, my sister went to her local beauty salon/tanning parlor and they told her about the new 10% tax, she told them there was no way she was paying and extra 10% for tanning to Obama when the sun was still free. Afraid of losing business, the proprietor said she would ring it up as hair care to avoid the tax...I wonder how many other places are doing the same thing....

I think it's a very effective use of the Alinsky tactic: Force the enemy to live up to their own rules.

There you go ,, those chemicals are dangerous ,, same reasoning that was used to implement the tanning bed tax ... besides that stuff has the absolute foulest smell ,, users deserve a tax for imposing the smell on the rest of us.

Place a tax on skin whitening products also.
