Obama to warn Republicans on budget tactics
Reuters ^ | July 25, 2013 | By Mark Felsenthal

President Barack Obama will use the backdrop of a busy commercial port in Florida to warn congressional Republicans on Thursday that using the threat of government shutdown or debt default puts a fragile economic recovery in jeopardy.

Obama has said repeatedly that his primary focus is to restore economic stability to a middle class that is still wobbly after the deep recession of 2007-2009. That aim has been sidetracked since his re-election last November by his efforts to pass gun control and immigration legislation.

It has also been overshadowed by controversies that have kept the administration on the defensive, such as the targeting of conservative groups by the Internal Revenue Service and revelations of widespread surveillance of citizens' phone and internet records by the National Security Agency.

Congressional Republicans, concerned about a large budget deficit and bills to come due in the future as a result of government retirement and health programs, want spending cuts and lower taxes as part of the budget process.

Despite Obama's desire to change topics, his efforts to launch infrastructure repairs are emblematic of his frustrations in getting Congress to agree to his economic agenda.

A government shutdown might be the medicine the economy needs.

The demagogue is in Florida today.

ObamaCare is the greatest threat to this economy should be the talking points from Republicans. They’ll blow this opportunity too.

In the old days, the Congress had control of the purse strings.

“Obama has said repeatedly that his primary focus is to restore economic stability to a middle class that is still wobbly after the deep recession of 2007-2009. That aim has been sidetracked since his re-election last November by his efforts to pass gun control and immigration legislation.”

In other words, Obama was sidetracked from his disinterest in the economy by the time it took to eliminate human rights (to self defense) and eliminate the political opposition party through inflating the voter rolls with Democrats much like FDR tried to inflate the US Supreme Court with socialists in the 1930s. In reality, Obama’s primary interest is a third-world kind of socialism and economic health is distasteful to him. There are obvious things Obama could promote to encourage economic health such as tax breaks, relaxed labor regulations, trade promotion, and innovation encouragement which he has never even mentioned. At best, he admonishes business to hire more people as if this were simply a matter of mood among business owners.

Par for the course with Reuters. As if just because Obama says it, it's a fact. The last part is an in your face lie, the kind of lie that is insulting to one's intelligence. The economy has been in a tail spin since 2007 . Then again if they are not going to question Obama's lies why not throw in a few more of their own?

"Fragile" recovery? I thought he said it was a robust and vibrant recovery?

I am so confused...it must be those dastardly Republicans again...just like that fat, black broad in the orange dress on Hannity two nights ago was insisting!

Obama is coming to Chattanooga Tn next Tues. to tout the new hiring by Amazon. It’s ironic because Amazon located to TN because of lower tax rates and tax incentives.

Reeling from his failure to achieve his stated goal of “Fundamentally changing the United States of America, Communist Tyrant B. Hussein Obama has embarked on another expensive road trip to try to sell his Commune-Style power grab of 1/6 th of the US economy by promoting the idea that increased Federal debt is the best way of salvation for the over-taxed Middle Class.

The problem is not with Obama, as he is just doing what his Communist trainers have taught him to do.

The problem lies with the sorry House RINOs who keep John Boehner as their useless Speaker.

Nothing is going to help Commie Obama more than to keep John Boehner on as Speaker of the House.

Boehner has repeatedly stated his baseless fear that “If the Republicians stand up and oppose Obama we might be blamed by the Liberals for __________________(Fill in the blank).”

Rather than taking the fight TO the enemy, in this case the inexorable attempt to turn our Republic into a Communist State, Boehner has consistently shown that he is not a fighter.

It is time during Commie Obama’s con-artist tour of the remaining Liberal bastions in America for us to demand from our sorry House RINOs that they depose scardy-cat Boehner as Speaker, and install a FIGHTER worthy of our trust in his/her record of defeating Communist Con-Artists such as B. Hussein Obama.

What say all of you?

Hey, let's all come back to Planet Earth here.  If we were to fall back into that horrible "deep recession of 2007-2009"--
