Today, July 9th, is DAY #21 (of 5th week) State of Florida V. George Zimmerman case.
Yesterday was the first full day of defense witnesses. Perhaps the most significant of the first set were the two police officers who stated Tracy Martin, Trayvon’s father, said on 2/28/12 the cries for help on the 911 calls were NOT Trayvon. Later in the day Tracy Martin took the stand and essentially said the two detectives were lying. A great analysis of the events from yesterday is available HERE.
What additionally strikes as important to us is the first signs of desperation from the original nucleus of the Scheme Team construct, Benjamin Crump and Daryl Parks – attorneys for the Martin family. Parks appeared on Piers Morgan show last night and the video should be watched by anyone who knows how the scheme was constructed.
We accept that Mark O’Mara is conflicted in this case, and he is trying to walk a fine line between presenting a defense to a case built on political pressure and outright fraud; Yet simultaneously avoiding exposition of both the politics and the fraud itself.
The intentionally avoided open doors exposing the fraud creates anxiety for those of us who know what is inside the room he is avoiding. Our prayers are that his passing those wide open doors is based on prudence [within an unknown strategy]. However, our fear is the hasty and politically correct avoidance might cause him to pass by the room holding the key to George Zimmerman’s ultimate ‘long-term’ freedom.
It should be noted the NAACP Annual National Convention starts in Orlando on Friday; Additionally, preparations are being made in/around Miami-Dade for a Wednesday defense wrap up with a community/LEO preparation meeting today.

In previous cases I have watched, parents, family leave BEFORE the witness gets on the stand, or don’t come in if pics are going to be shown. That way, they are taking care of their own natural feelings without disrupting the court.
She considers herself a charity.
In the jury room, you tend to stick to the facts.
Also, remember that in trying to locate Travon, dad’s first call was to juvi....

Hmmm, I wonder. It seems the whole point of this circus is to shine the light on GZ, so maybe the idea of TM’s history isn’t on their radar. I agree that it’s striking that there are no viable witnesses to his sainthood, just not sure one way or another if the jury is thinking that way. It’s all manipulation anyway, it’s just disgusting on so many levels.
The Martins could be interviewing to be the natural successors to Jackass and notsoSharpton
This case has Manslaughter written all over it. While there is little evidence for it, I think it will happen anyway.
Murder2 is an impossibility, but the jury will feel sorry for the Mom, who wasn’t really a Mom anyway, and they will settle.
The jury also knows that a manslaughter conviction will stop the riots, and don’t tell me that won’t enter into their thinking.
I think the best Zimmerman can hope for is a hung jury.

Very transparent and considering the timing of her exits, I would like to believe the jury sees the connection.

I suppose you do, but as a mother sitting on the jury I would like to know more about this Trayvon guy. The only thing we have heard about him is he was with his dad, eating skittles, wearing a hoodie and that he doesn’t like creepy ass crackers. Like I said, a pretty big matzo ball.

I don’t think they’ll pull manslaughter out of the hat. The strongest reason is that Zman followed TM. I don’t think that is enough for manslaughter.
Hung Jury if anything.
The prosecution couldn’t present character witnesses because that would permit the defense to introduce evidence of Trayvon’s bad character.

After the first 12 times it’s probably lost the whole ‘too much to bear’ angle. At this point they probably see it for what it is, a diversionary tactic when the def is making serious headway.

The GF testified that TM was going to fight. That’s pre-meditated assault. The Defense needs to push that.
