The morning after Independence Day, Fox & Friends' fill-in hosts examined a 4th of July beer had that apparently has drawn the ire of some God-loving American conservatives. The commercial, played in its entirely on Fox, shows a bartender quoting the Declaration of Independence while pouring a Sam Adams. The problem? He neglects to mention that Americans' "unalienable rights" were "endowed by their creator."
As host Clayton Morris explained, Sam Adams was simply obeying the the Beer Institute's guidelines on not using religion in commercials ...
Jesse Watters wasn't quite so understanding. "When political correctness takes over the beer advertising industry, the terrorists have won," he declared ...

He contributed to Rep Holden who was a pretty conservative Dem in a district that no Republican could win. I may be wrong but I think he voted against Pelosi for Speaker. He was pro-life and pro-gun. I’ve contributed to him also. He was re-districted and lost primary to a real Lib from Scranton area.
That’s not as bad as a commercial I saw some years ago—I don’t recall the product—but it featured a chorus singing the hymn “Kumbayah”—only instead of “Kumbayah, my Lord,” they sang, “Kumbayah, my friends.”
Pottsville—typing too fast for my brain.
Sounds good—I have always liked the beer!
Sounds goodI have always liked the beer!
...as I said on another thread about this topic...there’s nothing better...
Anywhere I go, people hear I am from PA and they bring up Yeungling.
Funny story my brother and his friend decided they were going to go to the Yuengling brewery one day as a daytrip... they didn’t look much into it and figured when they got there they could ask anyone for directiins to the brewery.
Off they went... only problem was when they arrived... nobody knew what they were talking about... they drove to Pottstown... not Pottsville.
Too bad they build them in Canada. LOL
(Just like the Camaro)
Still a great Commercial. Love the music.
How about a list of good beers with good conservative values?
They are using the Declaration as decoration, is what I mean to say. Kind of a verbal red white and blue bunting. They don’t want heavy philosophical issues. They are lost same as all other unbelievers, and believers railing at them about that are missing the gospel point entirely.
And your remark is equally meaningless in the end, sorry to say friend...
The remark that counts is the one that (in a nutshell) God made in John 3:16.
Actually, discussions about futility however engendered are potential gospel openings. That was the great point of Ecclesiastes; Solomon didn’t have the gospel but he did have the revelation that the “I Am” had furnished to that date and concluded that everything just went in meaningless circles, even if it makes perfunctory salutes to God, unless God was fully enthroned as master.
Many modern Christians have been taught to sit by quietly and be resolutely passive while decay and destruction goes on completely unchallenged. I now believe this to be wrong.
I can be respectful, and even loving, while being forceful that certain things are just not acceptable. I understand that the Sam Adams people may likely not be Christians, however, I feel it is appropriate to note my displeasure with their deceitful action that, in my view, clearly, although perhaps somewhat unintentionally, serves to further leverage people away from the truth of the existence of a Creator.
If no one says anything then this soon becomes accepted as truth and then to oppose it at some later period becomes nearly impossible.
In the course of less than one generation the practice of homosexuality went from an anathema, labeled as deviant and the practice of a psychologically damaged person, to completely acceptable and celebrated, in part, I believe, because the church taught people to be “loving and accepting” and to treat homosexuals as those who once had Leprosy. And now here we are, the homosexuals have taken over and are after our children.
No, I personally am done remaining silent as some form of errant expression of peace and love. I can remain loving while vocally expressing opposition to sin and deceit.
