Egypt's army has declared a state of emergency in the Suez and South Sinai regions after an armed attack on al-Arish airport, despite relative calm elsewhere in the country on the first weekend since the ousting of Mohammed Morsi as president.

Your remark reminds me of the time an airport official (gestapo) was nosing around in my hangar. “You don’t store any gasoline in this hangar do you”? I replied “yes”. His eyes lit up like a Christmas Tree. “Where”? I said “in the fuel tanks of the airplane, 144 gallons”. He did not see any humor in my answer.
Typical of a functionary in the backwoods of our existence.

It’s not going to be a long bumpy ride. The Egyptian army is willing to be brutal in putting down the Muslim Brotherhood. Won’t take long for the rest of them to figure out it could cost them their lives to attack the army or government institutions.

It will be interesting to see if the MB tries to keep it on a more political level 9unlikely) or if they do their normal thing and start to kill off innocents when they don’t have the ability to do damage to the army. They will lash out - just a matter of timing and the avenue they take. Look for oil disruptions in other countries in the area as pipelines/oil fields are attacked.
