"In 12 or 18 years the current flap will be meaningless to the voters of the day."

If anything like the Senate immigration bill passes the House, you are absolutely correct.

Marco is bleeding out as we speak. He will likely not even get a second senate term. Thank God.

No. He’s a traitor and at the same time he’s been blackmailed/ threatened. Cruz/Bridenstein ticket. That’s who I’d want.

Rubio is a traitor.

Conservatives will never vote for this Judas.

Never. Ever.

I would never vote for a national ticket that included a non natural born Citizen such as Rubio. That is a matter of the rule of law and upholding the Constitution regardless of politics.

Beyond that, politically speaking, for selling the country down the river on amnesty, Rubio is dead to me.

From the appearances of his Facebook page, he has been receiving mostly negative comments for weeks though, the comments have elevated after his senate vote. The remarks are not good at all. From comments such as traitor to— you sold your country out —or I will never vote for you. There’s so much. Anyone on FB, should go make your voice heard.

If I were in public office and had a FB page, I would not want to be receiving those kind of remarks (though, I think he deserves them) So, yes, he is very damaged. Marco promised Floridians that he would not support amnesty to illegals under any conditions. Voters do not want to be lied to so I see that hurting him long term.

The insiders/the people operating the GOP and the media will protect him so if they were to get him on the 2016 ticket, the base will not be completely supportive. Most importantly, Rubio has been shown to be only a political animal with no true allegiance to country or his supporters.

When the current illegals in Florida are legalized, and you add in all of their brethren soon to come, his senate seat is a lock.
Nope. Not as long as he's a Republican. The mantra to illegals is and always will be "Democrats good, Republicans bad".

He was/is used as a useful idiot by the left for this scam and now they'll destroy him...They already have and he's too stupid to know it.

McCain has done NOTHING but DISS Conservatives, yet we STILL HAD TO VOTE FOR HIM

We coulda had JD Hayworth; but that pond-scum McCain shot commercials down on the border, wearing a border-patrol hat, sleeves rolled up, nodding knowingly as the Border agents explained the problem, pronouncing how tough he was going to be on illegal immigration. That's twice he's done that, and republicans swallowed it.

So, whatever problem anyone had w/ Hayworth (I happen to like him), there was no excuse for voting for McCain over him in the primary 2010.

Agreed. He blew any chances of being anything more than a Senator with his amnesty push.

Good point. The lefties down on the Gold Coast would never vote for Pubbie, even one to the left of Obama.

No. Not unless he switches party affiliation, like the R he beat in the primary did.

I have to admit Rubio had me fooled. I thought he was the real thing. Now when I see him, all I see is Schmuckie Schumer lurking in the background with his leering, rictus grin.

On the bright side, Rubio outed himself early. Now those of us who care about America and the Constitution can move on to a conservative leader who is not a fraud.

Good-bye, Marco. For a while it was nice knowing you...

I consider Rubio somewhat of a mental light-weight, although it doesn't require genius to understand and practice common sense American principles.
Rubio betrayed the nation and its foundational principles, so the answer is NO.
If Rubio doesn't go all Chuckles Chist and bail on the RINO party, but rather seeks national office as a RINO, he will suffer a fate worse than McLame.
Rubio has forfeited the base of the Republican party.
