RNC Chair: 'Broad Consensus' in GOP Want 'Comprehensive Immigration Reform'
Big Government ^ | 6/29/2013 | Tony Lee

Posted on 06/29/2013 7:00:48 PM PDT by markomalley

A day after the Senate passed its immigration bill, RNC Chair Reince Priebus claimed there was "broad consensus" in the Republican party for "comprehensive immigration reform."

"We need comprehensive immigration reform," Priebus told CNN's Peter Hamby on Friday. "I don't think we can continue to drift along with this mess of immigration laws that we have. And a mess that in many regards has been the results of our government not even enforcing the laws that are in place. There is plenty of blame to go around for why we are in this position, but I think it's about time that we address it."

He then asserted it was "clear that there is pretty broad consensus in the party, in the Republican Party, that we need comprehensive immigration reform" and said he knew the House leadership is "committed" to drafting a comprehensive bill.

Republican House leaders have indicated that they will not take up the Senate's bill, but have signalled they will draft "comprehensive" legislation they hope to pass in order to go to conference with the Senate. Conservatives, though, would like a narrower approach that focuses primarily on securing--and funding--border security first.

Where did they get this guy from?

And by the way - after thirty or more years of being treated like a red-haired stepchild by the GOP, I have finally changed my party affiliation on my voter registration. I am now officially a Conservative. I will have nothing more to do with those flaccid accomodationists who populate the Republican Party.

But to get back to the topic, Rank Prepuce has totally misstated the problem. We are not in need of immigration reform, we are in need of enforcement of existing laws. We need to secure our borders, and now. Aside from the illegals making it across the borders, who knows how many Al Qaeda operatives and other jihadists are infiltrating our society?

Just read Pat Buchanans’ “Day of Reckoning.” Page 245 gives us 10 ways to deal with the Third World invasion. #1 is NO AMNESTY. #2 calls for a security fence between San Diego and Brownsville. #10 calls for a timeout in LEGAL immigration-that means all. He’d make a good sec of state in a Palin administration.

You know, big business and such can give the GOP the money but they can’t give them the votes they need for the power. Idiots.

How about enforcing current immigration laws and stop allowing muslims into America.

Please fire Priebus immediately!!

Priebus should get an internship at the DNC. Because he is way too liberal to lead the RNC.

Why do RNC losers like Priebus get re-appointed? Does anyone have an answer? Who is pulling the strings? Certainly not the grassroot supporters!

I've been wondering that myself - Big business I suppose.

If the RNC tries calling me for money again I'm going to actually pick up the phone and tell them why they aren't getting a dime from me.

‘is he not just selling his soul?’

One must have a soul before one is able to sell it.
If Priebus had any self-respect he would have resigned his position after the debacle of the last election.

Folks like Grover Al Noquist threatening to direct the big globalist muslim money elsewhere if republicans don't toe the line.

Most patriots are in shock knowing/coming to terms that the republican establishment will not listen to their constituents or even to those fair-minded independents who mostly vote republican. The shock is from the betrayal of not protecting legal immigrants and Americans and those jobs first. The RNC seems to be expressing this attitude of what are you going to do; leave the party to do what. They didn’t forcefully defend traditional marriage either, did they. This amnesty thing seems to be the grand scheme. Too many politicians, have bought the lie that Rubio has illustrated. Obamacare, now this.

No. What we need is GOVERNMENT reform and not the left wing Obama kind.

“We the People” gave us Obama.

With premeditated help from some spineless republicans. The fix was in and they were part of it.
