Paul Ryan Leading House for 'Amnesty' Deal
NewsMax ^ | June 29, 2013

Posted on 06/29/2013 1:41:35 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

Paul Ryan, the Republican congressman and former vice-presidential candidate best known for his war on spending, is emerging as his party's leading champion of immigration reform in the U.S. House of Representatives.

With Senate passage of a sweeping immigration bill imminent, Ryan has been meeting with House conservatives to persuade them that reform of the immigration system, including a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants, is an economic necessity and critical to fixing the nation's fiscal problems.

Ryan, a potential 2016 presidential contender, sees himself as a "bridge builder" between immigration advocacy groups and reluctant Republicans, he said in an interview with Reuters.

He argues that the immigration system is broken and must be overhauled. "It doesn't work for national security. It doesn't work for economic security," Ryan said.

This is the Trojan Horse. Boehner should take up the Senate bill and vote it down, or blue slip it as being unconstitutional. Either way kill it.

Email/fax/phone Boehner and ALL R Reps up for re-election in 2014 and tell them this!!

a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants, is an economic necessity and critical to fixing the nation's fiscal problems.

This is so literally CRAZY it's impossible to know where to begin.

It is not an economic necessity to make any immigrant, legal or illegal, a citizen. Ever.

It will not only not FIX the nation's fiscal problems, it will make them worse. A lot worse. For a long time.

How can a serious person repeat words like these?

ah. the house rubio.

Excellent!

We have the making of a new noun and verb:)
Some ideas for definions?

What is a “house rubio?” hypocrite? turncoat? wolf-in-sheep’s clothing?

What is the verb “to rubio?” to mislead? to deceive? to bait and switch?

THAT HAS A FINE OF $5000 FOR ANY EMPLOYER WHO HIRES A CITIZEN OVER AN ILLEGAL ..

Woah, I had not heard that. Sadly not surprised. Can you send links where you got all this info—I really would like a succinct analysis that points out some of these “gems” buried in the bill!

In the News/Activism forum, on a thread titled Paul Ryan Leading House for ‘Amnesty’ Deal, :
to my response his request for sources: To look up Ted Cruz as the unattributed source of my comment of the $5000 fine for employers who do not prefer illegals in hiring in the senate amnesty bill
bushwon wrote “WTH do you mean “Cut the krap!” Thanks for being so helpful...NOT.”
It still stands, Now if Cruz is a liar I’d like to know as well as I think everybody else. So far nobody has questioned it. Not even either senator (Kirk RINO/ Durnban DC demo-com from Illinois who are both supporting the bill.

I honestly don’t understand what is your problem, and I am really sorry I even asked—I will note not to ask you or comment on your posts ever again.

Wow, feel like I need to defend myself....I just wanted a good, concise source (if you had one) as I had not heard and you wrote a quite lengthy post on the whole subject....Figured you might have time to provide a link as I was not up to speed because I had been doing seminar for past 2 days and just peaked a little bit on FR. Oh when I logged on today, I read “my posts” first which noted Paul Ryan’s position as I am on Wisco ping list. I had not seen Ted Cruz or anything about a $5000 fine.

No idea why you got so huffy about it. I wasa not/don’t dispute you or Ted Cruz. Just really sorry I even replied to you. Big waste of time and energy and surprising considering your profile.

I love that first line “war on spending”

He didn’t balance a budget for, what was it, 10+ years? Let alone it NEVER STOPPED the spending, but merely reduced it to ~2-3% annually. Some fiscal hawk there.

Now, he’s trying to tell us that lawbreakers should be given a clean slate, so we know who and how many there are.

I got a better approach, GUT the gravy train, grind the employers who violate the law and sweep up the crowd that will storm the streets when the bennies dry up. Hell, they may even self-deport.

But here is the problem. The system really can’t get any worse because it’s not going to get enforced.. ever... Too many people on both sides of the isle make it that way. Even if we could get someone who enforce those laws in as President he would never get the funding, and you have to remember that each state already gives away benefits and no President can fix that. The fact is that the current system is the worst possible system.. if the new laws don’t get enforced then we have the same system we do now... Really I find it all kind of hopeless. The only thing we even hope for really is by some kind of luck a few demo leaning states pass voter ID laws.. but that seems counter to the fact that is exactly what Democrats don’t want. so at the end of the day we are basically all screwed.

Confidential to Mister Ryan.

You are NOT a "bridge builder".

You are a useful intermediary, so that the Dems can have their way, and have 20 million voters by 2014 (one suspects an executive order or a fellow-traveling judge will do it.)

Not only, Mister Ryan, are you NOT a prez contender, you will be hopefully be facing a primary contender that will return you to productive society.

Yup.

Have you ever read about the Russian economist that predicts the breakup of our country. I’m thinking that is what it’s going to take, along with some “rule of law” types, IE Cruz, Lee, Paul, to take some sort of control.

But, until them, we are screwed.

Thought about this some more. Seems to me that the Senate DEMS would LOVE for Boehner to bring the Senate Bill up for a vote. Then when it didn’t pass, the House Republicans would of course be trashed.

Boehner should do just what Reid does with EVERY bill that passes the House and goes to the Senate...Never bring them up. Reid refused to bring up EVERY bill the House passed (even with House Dems in agreement) to defund ObamaCare. But no one seems to mention that! It’s ONLY the Republicans who won’t do anything!

So I hope the Senate Immigration Bill is NOT brought up in the House. Let the House members send their Immigration Bill to the Senate and see what Reid does!!

No, if the House sends their own bill to Senate then it goes to conference committee and a deal will be hatched with Ryan and Rubio leading the pack. No way.

Agreed; this thing needs to die.
By any means possible, even using the state governments.
I'm serious about this; I just spent nearly $200 on mailing (not mentioning time) and have an income of $0 [thank God that He takes care of me, and made me a saver by default].

What I can’t understand is why the Republicans don’t take control of this process. If a single one of them had a brain, they would PASS all the genuine border security amendments that were shot down in the senate and force the Democrats to vote against the bill. THEN the Republicans would end up with exactly the cover those cowards seek - - “Hey, Hispanics... It was the rats who killed the bill, not us.”

Whatever. As long as it dies. That’s the main objective.

House can’t pass anything re immigration OR both bills go to the conciliation committee (sausage grinder) and we know how that will come out.

Boehner has been talking tough: “We won’t even take up their bill. It is DOA. We’ll pass our own bill..etc”

Recipe for disaster, and he of course knows it. He’ll put Paul Ryan on conciliation committee and he and Rubio will ram it home. Beautiful “bi-partisan” product which Shumer will smile over

I was never impressed with Ryan’s budget plan. Now he has really shown his true colors on Amnesty. He is going down the same road to ruin as Rubio.
