We try to stay out of the muck here on the Spectacle Blog, but it’s Friday, and this one was too outrageous to ignore.

MSNBC contributor Michael Eric Dyson made a comment yesterday that should have fueled mass outrage.

After Clarence Thomas voted with the majority to strike down the section of the Voting Rights Act requiring certain jurisdictions to receive pre-clearance before making any changes to voting laws, Dyson said of Thomas: “A symbolic Jew has invited a metaphoric Hitler to commit holocaust and genocide upon his own people.”

I’ve never heard anyone use, “symbolic Jew,” before, is that an existing phrase? If Herman Melville were Jewish, would he be a symbolic Jew?

I can’t understand the over-reaction. To listen to the liberals and race baiters, you would swear that officials are moving right now to delete black voters from the rolls. You would swear that Bull Connor and his police dogs and fire hoses will be at polling places to force away black voters.

I will continue to vote and speak my mind however,our side of thinking is over and we have lost.
