WAUSAU, Wis. (AP) - The organizer of what would have been Wausau's first gay pride parade has cancelled it, saying he has experienced a wave of ugliness in the community.
Daxx Bouvier told Daily Herald Media (http://wdhne.ws/12ZwKye ) that he cancelled Saturday's parade after negative comments from a City Council member and in articles in local media.
Bouvier says people who had planned to be in the parade told him they were concerned about their safety.
City Council member Dave Nutting said at meeting earlier this month that people should boycott the parade or, if they went, turn their backs on "deviant-behaving individuals."
Bouvier lives in California but owns a home in Wausau. He says he has no further plans to organize gay pride events in the city.

I could never understand “Gay Pride” thing: what are they proud of? Imagine a “Herpes Pride”, or “Headless Chicken Pride” march. Absurd from any point of view, except perverted (pun intended).

No Daxx, standing up for morality and decency is not "ugliness" Shirtless men marching in leather pants with the seat cut out, that's ugliness. If you want to see real ugliness do a Google image search on "gay pride parade", but be forewarned what you will see is very, very ugly.
Here in Pittsburgh, what started as a three hour parade a few years ago has metastasized into a two-day long Queerfest totally overtaking the streets of downtown, and culminating in an Adam Lambert concert.

Because it’s an easy way of “peaceful bullying”. If you’re not celebrating their “pride” then you must be a bigot. It’s purely about shutting people up.
That said, people from Cali or the north east really think only their opinion should matter, that somehow the rest of the USA isn’t really important. They also don’t realize how big their reality bubble has grown. They don’t see that the rest of the country looks at them and thinks “crazy”. To them, it’s “evolved” or “enlightened”. They’ve moved so far from truth they now have no idea of what it is, it’s out of sight for them to the point where it doesn’t exist.
They now “don’t know what they don’t know”, they couldn’t formulate a coherent philosophy if their life depended on it. I’d love to ask them what morals we should live by, you know, because we’re just “animals” and all (they constantly refer to the animal kingdom to refer to certain behavior as “natural”). OK, so, why have marriage at all? I’m sure “thou shalt not murder” so be thrown out too!! ...after all, to include such a concept in law would be mixing religion and government!!!
