President Obama recently announced that he was finally willing get involved in the Syrian conflict, but many have said it is too little, too late. Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky, has made his opposition known, and now is working to do something about it.

Paul is one of a group of four bipartisan senators who have introduced a bill to prohibit President Obama from involving the U.S. in the Syrian civil war. The bill will block any funds on activities involving military or paramilitary aid, but humanitarian aid would not be affected.

“The President’s unilateral decision to arm Syrian rebels is incredibly disturbing, considering what little we know about whom we are arming,” Paul said in a statement from his office.

Senators Tom Udall, D-NM, Mike Lee, R-UT, and Chris Murphy, D-CT, have joined Paul in opposition to Obama’s decision to arm rebel groups in Syria.

The problem is that even if it successfully blocked, they’ll get the weapons anyway because we’ll just work out a deal for someone else to send weapons to them.

There is no ‘right side’ in this conflict.
There are no ‘good guys’ here.

If anything, I is on the side of the ‘worse’ guys.

LET’S US STAY THE HELL OUT!

We need to stay out of Syria. Does us no good to get involved in that mess. Obama waited too long to make a decision to move forward, too late now.

"What the hell is up with that?

Its a bipartisan group of antiwar pacifist democrats and isolationist republicans.

It is fairly common that these two groups will have the same foreign policy position. You may recall from previous times it was often said that when it came to foreign policy, there was no difference between Ron Paul and Dennis Kuccinich.

If you look at the vote in the Senate Foreign Relations Committee last month on whether or not to intervene in Syria, the vote came out 15 to 3. 15 Pubs and Dems voting yes and 3 dems and pubs voting no. Two antiwar pacifist dems(including Udall) and Randy Paul the isolationist. Paul and Udall lost the vote in committee(by 15 to 3) so now they are going to sponsor their own legislation
