Jeb Bush: U.S. economy needs immigrants because they’re ‘more fertile’
Washington Post ^ | June 14, 2013 | Aaron Blake

Former Florida governor Jeb Bush (R) argued Wednesday that the United States should pass immigration reform because the U.S. economy needs the labor of young immigrants, and immigrants are “more fertile.”

“Immigrants create far more businesses than native-born Americans,” Bush said at the Faith and Freedom Coalition’s Road to the Majority conference. “Immigrants are more fertile, and they love families, and they have more intact families, and they bring a younger population. Immigrants create an engine of economic prosperity.”

Bush said immigrants are an advantage that the United States has over China, Europe and Japan, which don’t have the same immigrant tradition and are struggling to find young laborers.

“If we don’t do it, we will be in decline, because the productivity of this country is dependent upon young people that are equipped to be able to work hard,” Bush said.

Bush, whose wife is a Mexican-born immigrant, has long been an advocate for comprehensive immigration reform.

Jeb Bush contributes his $0.02, bless his little heart and pea brain. Is it too late to deport him and his family to Antarctica?

Reagan also said that signing that amnesty bill was the biggest mistake of his presidency.

The man had the capacity to learn from his mistakes, and adjust his course according to reality on the ground. He left the Democrat party, didn’t he?

Plugs set it so low I don’t think Jeb can match him. But he is giving it his best.

What a eff’n looser. Also, say hello to the RNC’s pick for their side of the ticket next go around. The idiot himself. Bush.

I caught parts of it. Sounded like Rubio was drawing fire as well.

Excuses, excuses...

Short sighted politicians are the death of us all. Why can't so called “conservatives” stick to principles rather than be pragmatic whores like your hero?

Hell, when it comes to Obama, his allegiance to the Marxist principles far outweigh the pragmatism displayed by so called limited government types who only talk, not do for future sake.

Jeb married a Mexican national and has mixed children. He can’t emotionally separate himself from his home situation to have an ounce of credibility on the issue. This was probably also the reason for his brother’s illegal alien blind spot (well, that and being in thrall to giant business interests who want to force down American wages).

I guess we’re all being replaced. Strange times. I don’t want to see anybody on the ballot in 2016 other than Cruz, Palin, Paul, Walker etc. The hate of the left is a true stamp of approval.

I think the French have an eloquent expression to describe ‘Jeb’:

He’s full of s***.

Is the Cartel really serious about bitch-slapping us with yet another loser candidate?

Bush-1, Dole, Bush-2, McCain, Romney, Bush-3?

Kyrie Eleison.

His wife is an immigrant. He has 3 kids, which puts his wife at 150% above average for the US.

His brother, GW Bush has only two children. I am sure they have had discussions of this as an inside the family joke.

I honestly can't believe that Rush, Hannity, and Levin are giving Rubio any slack for what he's doing. None.

Sometimes I think these guys need to do their show prep at FR before they go on the air. They're almost always running behind the curve of this website.

Catch up guys, will ya? Damn!

Are you seriously slandering Ronald Reagan with that comment?

My limited understanding is that abortion clinics tend to be clustered in low income areas, and preferentially serve minorities, as was the desire of Margaret Sanger.

My only source is a Catholic radio show I heard driving back to LA from San Diego today.

The job interview went well.

I agree with you on three of those picks, but see Sunken Civ's post upthread, regarding Rand Paul's position on the amnesty bill. I'm afraid he's already broken the deal with conservatives.
