During an interview with FOX Business, former Rep. Ron Paul explained that he was concerned about the well-being of National Security Agency whistle-blower Edward Snowden.

“I’m worried about somebody in our government might kill him with a cruise missile or a drone missile,” Paul explained. “I mean we live in a bad time where American citizens don’t even have rights and that they can be killed, but the gentlemen is trying to tell the truth about what’s going on.”

Paul added that there were no signs of Snowden defecting to a foreign country, which meant that he was not really a threat.....

No, you’re wrong.

He didn’t take an oath to protect the folks far above his pay grade.

He was in the military and took an oath to protect the U.S.Constitution.

Find a copy and read it.

It wouldn’t surprise me if the NSA got “intel” which caused the IRS to target conservative groups. I wonder what the totalitarian “conservatives” would think then?

Look him up, he`s a one issue drone. The war on terror, that's it. A simple and single minded approach, "they want to kill us", nothing else. No realization that the response to this admitted threat, just like that to the "war on drugs" or the "war on poverty" is worse then the threat itself. Read his home page, a robot drone to a T.

the Patriot Act specifically prohibited spying on Americans without cause. Yet some even here go along with it in the name of a security which will NEVER come.

I won't call the guy a traitor, but when I saw his interview, I came away with the impression that there is something not quite right about him. Nothing serious, but it's sort of like the old days when a pin ball machine flashes TILT.

I hope it wakes people up so that we can confront the trade-offs between security and privacy (or safety v. liberty). I'm not optimistic, though. Like the kid said, the technology just keeps getting better at scooping and sorting data for the government and big business.

The kid probably didn't do much harm, but I'm not sure that in a year from now, we'll conclude that he did a lot of good, either. The technology represents some powerful forces (both business and government).

At this stage of my life, it's losing practical significant. Visits to doctors are starting to seem like parole hearings. Before too long, I'll win parole.

But, the government's been right about me. I was never really innocent at all.

I`ve read your home page, you sir, are a one issue, drone. No one has said that islamist terrorists are not a threat but your hero O`Bozo has not done much domestically to stop them. I would rather face threats here from them then threats from a runaway government that has REAL weapons, wants a dictatorship, and views lovers of freedom as the REAL enemy. But I suppose you trust O`Bozo and his cronies, right?

So people who snoop on average citizens for political gain are defenders? Wow you are one warped individual.

Again, you are the liberal for supporting a rogue government that intrusively searches and snoops without cause. Keep digging.
