“If people can’t trust not only the executive branch but also don’t trust Congress, and don’t trust federal judges, to make sure that we’re abiding by the Constitution with due process and rule of law, then we’re going to have some problems here.”

Obama added that the National Security agents behind the surveillance programs “cherish our Constitution.”

This government was founded on the principal that government can’t be trusted, and therefore has to be limited. The more unlimited government gets, the more people should mistrust it.

He went on to say, “Just hand your guns over to me, and everything will be fine. You can trust me. I’m not like the others.”

You know I have been wondering if all these leaks aren’t intentional from the WH. A simple introduction to the now completely transformed America. The conservative targeting by the IRS was revealed, actually by Lois Lerner. One would have thought that when the tea parties did the protest day that there would have been some tolerance shown, instead protesters were met with armed agents and helicopters. I think this was quite telling. Today, Obama basically told the American people this is how it is going to be and used veiled threats. Something just isn’t sitting right.

I tend to agree.

- If we can no longer trust government, there *are* going to be problems.

Now ask yourself, Is the federal government trustworthy?

Vigilance IS the price of Liberty! Governments should never, ever, be trusted. It’s an historical fact, and is the nature of the beast.

That’s WHY our government was designed the way it was..by the PEOPLE FOR the PEOPLE.

This man was obviously NOT raised in the United States. He clearly doesn’t understand what it is to be an American, nor does he understand his role as president, the role of government in this country, nor the principles behind it all.

He and his Jarret need to go, and the sooner the better.

I think the government needs a total overhaul. What’s going on now just isn’t working.

Says the person who has said that he would not enforce the duely passed immigration laws, election laws nor the DOMA law. He has also plainly stated that he would bypass congress if they were not willing to pass some laws and that he would accomplish his goals without congress.

But we are supposed to trust him....and the drones are lapping away....

I've thought the same thing but for different reasons....

My thought is that because the most damaging one, Benghazi, was becoming a problem the ‘Rats decided to do what works best...overwhelm the system with multiple scandals there by preventing the ability to get to the bottom of any one of them...

Rules for radicals....

The Patriot Act was controversial because people were worried about it’s constitutionality regarding illegal search and seizure. This is why it was constrained to calls involving a *foreign* phone connection. So, I question:

* When did this first change?
* When did it include purely domestic calls?
* When did it expand to include everyone?
* How is this now even remotely constitutional? It was controversial when it was far more restricted.
* This was *not* disclosed, if it really helps fight terrorism, why not at least let us know? (rhetorical)
* Didn’t Obama just declare the war on terror over?
* If WoT is over, how can you justify this at all?
* Why should I trust that you won’t generate more “enemy lists” by mining this data?
* Who monitors the database queries? Once they have the data they can query what they want.
* Do you think you are our masters? (rhetorical)
* How do you determine what records you can covertly record and those you don’t?
* Who decides that?

Well, we’ll never know because this President doesn’t answer more than one question ;)

". . . . trust"?

13. "If once the people become inattentive to the public affairs, you and I, and Congress and Assemblies, Judges and Governors, shall all become wolves. It seems to be the law of our general nature...." - Thomas Jefferson-1787

One thing is for certain: America's Founders and Framers of its Constitution understood human nature and the human tendency, seen over and over again in history, to abuse power.

Further, "Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C. S. Lewis

All who doubt the wisdom of Lewis might watch the video of the President's remarks at an earlier National Prayer Breakfast. There, Obama arrogantly misappropriated Jesus's spiritual challenge to individuals, claiming those words as validating and authorizing abusive use of coercive power by himself and his cronies to "take" from some in order to buy votes and accumulate more power to themselves--all in the name of "helping" the beneficiaries of such unconstitutional "takings."

Hear Samuel Adams:

"Is it now high time for the people of this country to explicitly declare whether they will be free men or slaves. It is an important question which ought to be decided. It concerns more than anything in this life. The salvation of our souls is interested in this event. For wherever tyranny is established, immorality of every kind comes in like a torrent, it is in the interest of tyrants to reduce the people to ignorance and vice.” - Samuel Adams
