Kirk Douglas: America is a 'Cowboy Country with too Many Guns'
Breitbart's Big Hollywood ^ | June 5, 2013 | Staff

Posted on 06/06/2013 6:56:49 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Kirk Douglas looks around America these days and he sees too many guns.

The 96-year-old actor, best known for performances in classic films like Spartacus, Paths of Glory and Lust for Life, took to the cyber pages of The Huffington Post to call for more gun control--and far less guns.

I often played the good cowboy on screen, riding in to save the day. Now, everybody thinks he is a cowboy too. That frightens me. We have become a cowboy country with too many guns....

I cannot understand the people who are against some form of gun control. They should be the first to welcome a message on making it more difficult to get a gun. Many of them seem to propose more guns being available to everybody. Why? Are they interested in making more money for the gun manufacturers? Are they politicians who just want to oppose the president in anything he endorses? It's incomprehensible to me.

How Kirk Douglas Overstated His Role in Breaking the Hollywood Blacklist

Jul 5 2012, 8:01 AM ET

For years, the actor has taken credit for bravely hiring a communist screenwriter in the McCarthy era. But there have long been questions about his version of the story.

Mr Douglass, our Constitution says that the government cannot take away our guns. Period.

Country with too many guns? Really? Seems to me that with all the NSA stuff we're hearing about today, gathering all this data on 300 million "domestic terrorists" from at least 50 different companies, America does not have enough guns!

Not too many guns, too many Reds, not the kind who live in teepees but the kind who loved Chairman Mao, Stalin, Ho Chi Minh and Pol Pot.

Too many who voted for and worship Obama just because he is partly Black. Having a name close to Osama Bin Laden didn’t hurt either.

Also too many who want to kill their babies, want to imitate Sodom and Gomorrah, and think everyone but White Men should be given preference for everything.

...and Aunt Edna enjoyed sandwiches soaked in dog pee.

I’m sure Michael does, too, but this is about his father, Kirk Douglas.

Texas Fossil to Kirk Douglas:

We sold our cows because of the drought, but kept our guns. If you don’t like it, Tomah.

What happened to Spartacus?

He got killed with an assault sword.

He could have lived longer if he had a gun.

.

.

Thank you.
Sometimes people can be so cruel.
Kirk Douglas is one of America’s biggest stars EVER.
He is an icon- an American legend!
He and his ilk are almost gone.
They will Never be replaced. Ever.
He is 96 years old, for God’s sake.
Can’t we just forgive an old man for speaking his mind?
(even though we know he is wrong)
Can’t we just be grateful for all the wonderful entertainment he has left us?

.

Yeah, I remember Michael going off on some anti-gun rant. That’s why I thought it was him. Nutty apple doesn’t fall far from the crazy tree, it seems.

leave the old gentleman alone.

Please explain what you mean by that. Is he being haunted, harrassed, threatened by the posters here?
