ELCA Elects First Homosexual Bishop
Exposing the ELCA ^ | 5/31/13 | Dan Skogen

Posted on 06/01/2013 9:16:54 AM PDT by rhema

The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America's downward spiral of apostasy took a huge leap when the Southwest California Synod ELCA elected the first ever homosexual bishop of the denomination. “The Rev. Dr. Guy Erwin has been elected as bishop of the Southwest California Synod ELCA” announced a facebook post by the synod. (See synod facebook page here)

Rev. Dr. Guy Erwin's faculty profile at California Lutheran University where he teaches says this, "Dr. Erwin is an ordained minister in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America; he and his partner Rob Flynn are members of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in North Hollywood, CA...” (see here)

Rev. Dr. Guy Erwin was ordained as a pastor in the ELCA two years ago. A press release by Lutherans Concerned/North America at the time stated “R. Guy Erwin, a teaching theologian at California Lutheran University (CLU), was ordained in the Samuelson Chapel of that institution at 10:00 a.m. on May 11, 2011. He is both gay and in a committed same-gender relationship. His ordination, the fulfillment of a lifetime desire, is made possible by the change in policy in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) that followed the decision of the 2009 ELCA Churchwide Assembly to allow ministers in committed, same-gender relationships to serve in the church.” (see here)

This is a game changer friends. The approval of homosexuality has always been open defiance of God by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America but now this action announces it to the world and defines what the denomination is about and what they believe.

OK, jokes aside, don’t you truly see that God weeps. The perspective of the battle of Christendom must be brought back: our divinely assigned battle has never been against flesh and blood except tangentially. It has been against the demons. It’s heaven versus hell, pick a side and do your best (investing yourself in the Lord always). Every sincere Christian, be they Roman Catholic or Orthodox or evangelical, should be a “protestant” ... protesting, AGAINST the world of sinners that are lost apart from God’s work, FOR the God of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and for God’s supernatural kingdom.

Exchanging the truth of God for a lie. Sad, sad, sad

actually I ought to change even that to say against the demon world and their work among the sinners. NOT against the sinners! Christ died to SAVE the sinners, if they will only accept it. Some won’t.

The antidote is God, and the method is through us. We should invest ourselves in the Lord. Let Him win OUR souls more deeply. Then we can boldly share what we have, to win OTHER souls away from the devil.

He wasn’t called a Heretic for nothing
That douchebag is directly responsible for the immorality gripping this nation, as well as the importation of African slaves into America by his followers and the subsequent civil war, Universal Suffrage, and Federal tyranny that resulted

According to the California Lutheran University website, he has an endowed professorship, is originally from Oklahoma, and is a member of the Osage tribe of Indians. So he could have moved to Massachusetts and competed for office against Fauxcahontas, but instead settled for a well-paid job in academe.

Last I looked, Roman Fraudolocism isn’t the founding creed of the United States.

The Episcopaleans and ELCA have trouble enough with bishops ~ now they are staffing up on gay bishops.

It would be better for them to decide finally that at least for them having bishops is a failed church program. Then they can give up having this office. Turning over ownership of places of worship to the congregations would be another reform I'd advocate for them.

Then they'd be free to get on with trying to know God rather than indulging the proclivities of gay blades.

Nope. my brother is a recovering ELCA member. His church left the synod a few years ago when they started to become more and more apostate.

My deepest sympathies to those in the LC-MS, WELS, NALC, LCMC, and other smaller Lutheran bodies, as we shall all be tarred with the broad brush headline "Lutheran" in the days ahead.

The LCMS and WELS are some of the most orthodox Biblically conservative churches you will find. Don’t paint all Lutherans with the same brush. I wish the ELCA would call themselves something else, because they are no longer Lutheran in any sense of the word.

I wasn't raised in a church, just the faith by osmosis one gets from a childhood in the Bible belt during the 60s. The circular path of my seekership has taken me to things many here would be rightly fearful of.

I've been researching prophecies, especially contemporary prophecies and predictions. For what it's worth, one I've seen from several different sources can be summed up by the third message of Our Lady of Akita, Japan on October 13, 1973:

"As I told you, if men do not repent and better themselves, the Father will inflict a terrible punishment on all humanity. It will be a punishment greater than the deluge, such as one will never have seen before. Fire will fall from the sky and will wipe out a great part of humanity, the good as well as the bad, sparing neither priests nor faithful. The survivors will find themselves so desolate that they will envy the dead. The only arms which will remain for you will be the Rosary and the Sign left by my Son. Each day, recite the prayers of the Rosary. With the Rosary, pray for the Pope, the bishops and the priests. The work of the devil will infiltrate even into the Church in such a way that one will see cardinals opposing cardinals, and bishops against other bishops. The priests who venerate me will be scorned and opposed by their Confreres. The Church and altars will be vandalized. The Church will be full of those who accept compromises and the demon will press many priests and consecrated souls to leave the service of the Lord.

That's the gist of it and all say almost exactly the same thing.

To paraphrase, we won't know the time or the day, but if and when He finally has had enough, He'll do a cleansing, in that special way He does when He gets really, really pissed.

Studying the 7 churches of Revelation is helpful, too. All of it coming to pass, just as foretold.

Nice slogan... terrible earthly undertaking of it.

“Oh, God wants us to just nice over homosexual behavior, oh forget all that fuddy duddy talk about spiritual wrongdoing and sin and the need to get all that stuff right with God when He accepts you. We now have come as you are bishops openly and boldly living a stark sign of the unredeemed life, just to prove it....”
