Pastor Praises Anthony Weiner: Moses And St. Peter Made Mistakes, Too (God Is 'GPS' to Him)

New York Daily News reporters went to church on Sunday with disgraced former Congressman Anthony Weiner, who is seeking the redemption brand as he runs for mayor of New York City.

Pastor Phil Craig, it appears, welcomed the candidate with open arms to the Greater Springfield Memorial Church in Queens:

Weiner picked the modest church with about 30 people in the pews for his Sunday morning debut over the megachurches that are often popular campaign stops. Pastor Phil Craig welcomed Weiner with notes of redemption.

“I made mistake after mistake,” he said in introducing the candidate. “Moses wasn’t qualified … Ezekiel wasn’t qualified. Peter wasn’t qualified.”

Wiener explained to the congregation that God was like a “GPS” reminding him when he was off the right path.

The nuns used to tell us St Peter had crevices in his pace from the tears he cried over betraying Jesus. And that he refused, in his martyrdom, to be crucified upright, as he was “not worthy to die in the same manner as Jesus”.

St. Peter evangelized throughout Antioch and spread the faith in times of great persecution.

THe following verifies this, as does a basic knowledge of tradition and the Bible.

But Anthony Weiner, a disgusting perviert who is said to have no shame, besides his actions which state this fact and has shown little remorse and is seeking the seat of mayor so his MB bosses who arranged his marriage to one of theirs so they can usurp our govt further with this muslim version of Hillary, groomed herself by Hillary, herself, he is compared to St Peter. Who is entombed in St. Peters (his own) Basilica.

The outrageous acts and declarations don’t cease.

from a simple google search:
Saint Peter was instrumental in bringing the Gospel to the gentiles and gave his support in preaching to them at the Council of Jerusalem. After St. Peter baptized the Roman pagan Cornelius, he was arrested and imprisoned by King Herod Agrippa but he was aided in escape by an angel. Saint Peter’s missionary efforts then began to include such pagan cities as Antioch and Cornith. He traveled to Rome later and gave reference to the Eternal City in his first Epistle. Saint Peter is recognized as the Prince of the Apostles and the first Supreme Pontiff.

The ancient historian Josephus describes ways the Roman soldiers amused themselves by crucifying criminals in different positions. While the position attributed to the crucifixion of Saint Peter is plausible, tradition says St. Peter requested not to be crucified in the same manner as Jesus. St. Peter said he was not worthy to die in the same way as his Lord. So the Roman soldiers crucified him upside down.

More gruesome details concerning the martyrdom of Saint Peter have circulated for ages; including that it took Peter three days to die upside down. Death in the ordinary position of crucifixion causes suffocation but one does not suffocate when hanging upside down. There are stories that the soldiers attempted to burn St. Peter crucified on his cross but he did not die. After three days he is said to have been beheaded while hanging upside down.

Mark Steyn referred to him in passing as “that great theologian, Al Sharpton”

No, they were pragmatically remorseful and ceased their silly behaviors and went on to become chosen leaders because of their remorse NOt because of their bad be haviors

Moses And St. Peter Made Mistakes, Too

True, but they weren't democRats. At least they intended to do the right thing. Also, they weren't just sorry they got caught. They were genuinely remorseful, even broken-hearted over their mistakes when it was pointed out to them, and they changed their ways. Moses and Peter did not live and survive by their lies.

What a ridiculous comparison!!

“I made mistake after mistake,” he said in introducing the candidate. “Moses wasn’t qualified … Ezekiel wasn’t qualified. Peter wasn’t qualified.”

I would say that both were uniquely qualified.

They were called by God.

If Weiner is now claiming to be a prophet I hope he is willing to suffer the Biblical consequences of being proven to be a false prophet. Being stoned to death.

They used to describe God as the great Watchmaker. Now, He is more like a watch, or perhaps a little navigation system. Kind of an amusing toy, I suppose. You can put Him on the shelf when He's not useful to you ...

When someone has a worldview that God is not the Creator, then either God(s) sprang forth from the Big Bang or had to wonder "WHAT WAS THAT?!!!" when it occurred.

The Left likes the impartial observer.

Can you imagine the fun St. Peter's going to have at the Pearly Gates with this one?

"Wiener? Wiener? Name's familiar but I don't recognize the face..."

"And they said I denied Jesus?!"

“Moses wasn’t qualified … Ezekiel wasn’t qualified. Peter wasn’t qualified.”

.
The pastor is a real judge of character — God made mistake after mistake choosing the three persons mentioned above.

Everyone makes mistakes, and we are called to forgive. But I have a couple of problems with what the Pastor is doing:

Has Weiner repented of his sin? If so, he sure has kept it quiet.

Even if he has repented, that doesn't mean he gets to go right back into a leadership postion.
