BBC News political editor Nick Robinson apologized last week for originally identifying the London stabbing as having a “Muslim appearance” based on quotes given to him by law enforcement.
Appearing on the News at Six the day of the Woolwich attack, Robinson explained that his law enforcement sources told him the perpetrator was of “Muslim appearance” and had reportedly been shouting “Allahu Akbar,” the Arabic phrase for “God is great.”
The report apparently generated controversy, especially within the United Kingdom’s Muslim community, who felt the comment represented an unfair “racist generalization.” Several days later, Robinson took to the BBC website to post an apology note, which read in part:

The ‘appearance’ part is what’s wrong - that the reporter said he had a Muslim ‘appearance’. He WAS a Muslim, and he DID shout ‘Alahu Akbar.’ That’s the only error here.
Clearly the guy looked like a Jihadi.

Nick Robinson told the truth, and now he is appoligising out of fear of offending Muslims apparently. If you want to see TRUE Islamophobia, look no further then Nick Robinson, he is obviously terrified of Muslims
Read most of the press reports coming a day or two after this attack and you come away with the “fact” that the worst thing about this is the “excuse for Islamophobia” it gives the white underclass. Depressing.
