Rep. Pelosi knocks Republicans' 'obsession' with Benghazi attack By Sam Baker - 05/11/13 11:43 AM ET
Congressional Republicans are using their Benghazi investigation as political "subterfuge" to distract from other issues, House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said Saturday.
Pelosi said it's important to find out what happened in the Sept. 11, 2012, attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya. But the right is taking it too far, she said in an interview with MSNBC's Melissa Harris-Perry.
"The obsession that some of my Republican colleagues have in the House doesn't look like it's on the path to really finding a solution, but just to keeping an issue alive," she said.
House Republicans held a day-long hearing this week on the Benghazi attacks, focusing on security at the consulate as well as the way the administration described the attack.
"We certainly have to give the full attention Benghazi deserves, but we cannot let it soak up all of the congressional attention," Pelosi said. "What would be the purpose of that?"
The issue has also dominated conservative media.
"We want to find out what did happen, but … then it becomes an issue that is subterfuge: 'Let's talk about Benghazi forever, so we don't have to talk about what the American people want us to talk about,'" Pelosi said. "They want us to talk about jobs, they want us to talk about economic security, economic growth."
Republicans have accused the administration of downplaying the attack, citing initial talking points that described it as a protest over an anti-Islamic YouTube video rather than a coordinated terrorist attack.
Some Republicans have also questioned whether the administration refused requests for additional security in Benghazi.
"Much of what is being said out there by some of my colleagues in Congress is simply not true … it simply isn't true," Pelosi said. "So we have to make sure the public record is clear."
The democrat choir is getting fewer and fewer showing up for practice, it’s starting to be realized the harmony has always been bad, and the melody is old and worn out.

I was a young working man during Watergate. Nobody called that an “obsession”, but then the Republicans were guilty and the Washington Post led the charge. Now that the shoe is on the other foot, everyone in mainstream media is trying to ignore it. Sure wish these people in the media would wake up and realize we want the truth and the right to hold those in charge accountable for their errors. After all, our future safety might depend on it. Time to be Americans, not global citizens, Republicans or Democrats, and unite to save our future.

When it was found out that Muslim terrorists were behind the Boston Marathon bombing, the lapdog media and Obama gubermint went out of their way to hide the fact that Muslim terrorists were behind the attack.
When Hussein Obama (and useful idiot Hillary "Watergate" Clinton) told us that the Benghazi attack was the result of a Muslim protest turned violent, upset because of a YOUTUBE video that was critical of Islam, heads turned when the senior officials in Libya said they were almost immediately aware that it was a terrorist attack, not a protest turned violent.
You might notice a pattern here. Hussein Obama said he would side with the Muslims and he appears to be doing much more than siding with them.
The President is the only one who could order the military not to respond to Benghazi. When he did that, he essentially sentenced over 40 Americans to death. Fortunately, heroes ignored the traitor's orders and defended innocent Americans.
SO WHY is Hussein doing all he can to hide the fact that Muslims are killing Americans in terrorist attacks?
If I told you why Hussein Obama is siding with the Muslims, if I told you why Hussein Obama has made a mess of our finances, made a mess of our energy production (wait until you see your electric bill in 2015), if I told you why Hussein supported terrorists in the takeover of Egypt, gave arms to Al Qaeda in Libya and Syria, and removed troops from Iraq, then I would insult your intelligence.
But if I don't, you will likely NEVER figure out who our first Muslim President is working for.
