Whistleblower’s yarn fails to tie Benghazi lapses to politics
WaPo ^ | May 8, 2013 | Miss Dana Milbank

They summoned a whistleblower to Capitol Hill, but instead they got a virtuoso storyteller.

Gregory Hicks, the No. 2 U.S. diplomat in Libya the night Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans were killed, was to be the star witness for Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), the man leading the probe of the Obama administration’s handling of the attack on the diplomatic outpost in Benghazi.

But despite Issa’s incautious promise that the hearing’s revelations would be “damaging” to Hillary Rodham Clinton, Hicks didn’t lay a glove on the former secretary of state Wednesday. Rather, he held lawmakers from both parties rapt as he recounted the events of that terrifying night — revealing a made-for-Hollywood plot with a slow, theatrical delivery and genuine emotion.

He spoke of watching TV at his residence in Tripoli when a security officer “ran into my villa yelling, ‘Greg! Greg! The consulate’s under attack.’ ”

I haven't seen the putrid video, but can you bet your former secretary of state and our present president Miss Dana Milbank has.

No interest in the so-called press in finding out what happened. Only whether or not it hurts Fearless Leader.

Official Reality being asserted, here.

Guess I don’t need to see what he actually said, it’s enough to know it didn’t harm anyone.

Yarn?

The WaPo has the b*lls to use the word yarn after all the bull Obama they’ve subjected us to for all these years?

Silly me, I would have thought that the government whistleblower would possess more standards five years after he passed away than any WaPo so-called “journalist” has now...or for that matter...ever did.

Nice try, WaPo. But remember, virtually anyone out there with an IQ over room temp who has not been educated in a public school can see right through your shoddy writing and non-existent logic.

Yeah I think they buried the lede for sure here, which was that the scandal was less that there was an attack on the embassy, but that the whole administration then proceeded to lie about what happened for months to come.

It was the offensive coverup blaming it on a “conservative” youtube video that was the crime, and that DID come out in this testimony.

If they had said there should have been more security in Benghazi but we acrewed up and there wasn’t and now people are dead, we would not still be talking about it.
