Jason Collins, the pro basketball player who outed himself as gay this week, will appear alongside First Lady Michelle Obama at a New York fundraiser, according to a source familiar with the event.
Collins will appear with Obama at the May 29 Democratic National Committee LGBT gala, the source said. The event is Obama's first fundraising stop since President Barack Obama won re-election.

When did we reach a point where we’re not just tolerant of homosexuality, but we activly celebrate and push homosexuality?
When did it become cool to be homosexual?
Tolerance is one thing, active expressed approval and celebration is something else altogether. Clearly we are at a point where homosexuality is celebrated.

He is out of a job, but any team that doesn't hire him now will be labeled a "gay-basher".
And if he IS hired as a player, they won't expect more than the 9-10 minutes per game and 35% shooting. But he'll be on every poster.

I am still not convinced this guy is Gay. His Basketball career was over and I think he got an Agent and identified a “gig” where he could make big bucks with appearances, speeches, magazine spreads and interviews. Remember he was engaged to a white girl for 8 years and she was startled by his revelation. I will bet anything that he will receive a big paycheck for this appearance with Michelle. Identify his Agent and that might be revealing.
