I think something is up. They were driving all over Water town and Waltham in two cars for almost an hour. These are dense city streets that only a local would know how to navigate. They could have easily gotten on the Mass Pike in 5 minutes from where they hijacked the car. One of the reasons for the police SWAT action for the search the next day was that they suspected a terrorist cell harboring the fugitive.
