I have been to Russia 4 times. People there told me what the Chechen war was all about.

Actually, my dear friend, I speak with Russians regularly (I speak the language) on Facebook. They assure me that Russia is still far less free than America, though they are staying stagnant and we are losing freedom quickly. One of my female Russian acquaintances was in New York City recently, and she assures me that even there, America is -- presently -- more free. However, she warns me that we are rapidly sliding and that the velocity is picking up, and that we are likely to be less free than Russia shortly.

I don’t think Putin had to “school” him on anything, really. I think Obama knows exactly what’s up with Jihadis - he’s supporting THEM with OUR tax dollars (Egypt, Libya, Syria, etc...).
If Russia finds our weapons in the Caucuses or Baltics with these terrorists there we’re going to be in a bit of trouble, imo. Russia won’t sit back quietly while the US arms the rebels there... They might be semi-quiet in regard to Syria, but if those things make their way to Chechnya (for example), I think Putin will take a much different tone publicly against the US.
