Susan Sarandon: ‘War on Drugs’ Is ‘Completely Racist’ April 22, 2013 By Melanie Hunter
(CNSNews.com) – Actress Susan Sarandon on Wednesday called the war on drugs “completely racist,” arguing that only lower level drug defendants get locked up – “mostly people of color.”
“The war on drugs is ridiculous, because you’re only getting—you’re spending a huge amount of money. It’s completely racist. You’re picking up everybody at the lower level because mandatory minimum drug laws let you trade in to get off, so if you don’t have anyone to trade in, if you’re at the bottom, you’re going to jail," she said.
“If you’re up at the top, you just trade in somebody and then you get off, so the people at the bottom are the ones that are filling up our jails, mostly people of color. And you’re wasting taxpayers’ money, and you’re allowing drug cartels to make money,” she added.
Sarandon advocated for the legalization of marijuana, saying “I would like to see everybody be able to smoke pot.”
Sarandon added that it would produce revenue for states. “If you taxed it, we’ll see what happens in these states that have passed it. You would have a lot of income,” she said.

Well she is right in one way. It is a stupid war and should be stopped. She is wrong that it is racist. It is not the fault of the law that blacks are the most likely to break it.
This line of thinking directly leads to the point that the War on the Unborn is Racist.

The war on drugs might not be working but the reason is not racism. It is because we have too many dopers like her which were spawned from her generation.

Sarandon is a fool — she has proven that over and over again. But I have to say as a conservative who rarely takes the cries of “racism” seriously, that there is some truth to the idea that the application of drug laws impacts the poor and blacks much worse than it impacts rich and middle class whites. We all see the stories about how rich and famous white adults and kids usually get off, or get a second chance, and poor and blacks are more likely to have the book thrown at them. I don’t think racism is the reason for the policies, but I personally can’t deny that they impact poor and blacks harder than rich and whites.

Sarandan is a fine example of idiocy. She once said that she taught her then-young daughter that there IS NO GOD!
Now she has the audacity to say that the people in this country are racist.
